Too much for my taste. And I'm not sure I want to ink another long-term 6M deal for a D-man right now.

I am too, but I think Lindholm would be the best of the 4

Just a PSA for STL fans, you cant just add Scandella to every trade because you dont have cap space. Thats a you problem, not every other teams problem. If you need the cap space, you put Scandella on waivers (or trade him seperatly) but thats STL work to do, not Anaheims.

If Scandella was a pending UFA this year, fine but hes got two more years after this season. No team is taking on 6.5M dollars just to help you out with a trade where they are giving you the best player in the trade along with almost 50% retention on said player.

Yeah it’s unfortunate. I’m on team keep Scandella and buy him out (cuz it’s very favorable) but it’s frustrating because nobody else who could clear the necessary cap space at the TDL is available. Sundqvist maybe???

Yeah Scandella is literally the only guy the team should want to move out for extra cap space. The rest of the team is solid. That buyout is pretty decent so that may be a good option if they cant find a dance partner for his contract straight up.

This seems like an overpayment. Lindholm is good but won't command that much, I guess the big return is to ensure Scandella's deal gets traded but I think Anahiem might buy at the deadline, they have tons of cap space and could make a playoff run

Sorry, don't agree with that at all. He's not quite what he was a few years back, while Krug and Faulk have picked up their games. ANd sheesh, if Colt could stop losing the puck in his skates for no reason, he's a legit 1st pairing guy.

Of course, getting Lindholm and Parayko together would probably lift both of them quite a bit. If the extension is more like 4 years and not 6-7, I'd be down. Just not for as much in this trade idea. Take Kostin out and I'd say okay.

I've done this too. Not because I think said team would actually take Scandella, but just because I'm lazy and know if that's the hold up, there's def a way to move his cap hit and just don't feel like ironing that out on here lol.

Agree. Kostin is a solid depth piece to keep around for a run. Send out a younger mid tier prospect or something if you want, but Kostin is finally nhl ready and starting to put it together. Need his meanness come playoff time. I'm on the trade for Lindholm train myself, think of the options available he's the best fit for Parayko.

Yeah but that's just the thing, Scandella isn't "easy" to move. If he was than yeah, its not that big of a deal, everyone gets it, he's just there, doesn't matter.

At one point I read that the Blues should have about 2.8m in deadline cap space. I wonder if it would be possible to add a guy like Lindholm @ 50% without having to send out Scandella. That might make the most sense for everyone.

I don’t want to pay the cap-dump fee either, especially when he’s so easy to buyout this summer

Yeah, with the way Kostin skates, uses his body for position and finds open ice, I would not be the least bit surprised if he turns into another Barby.
