Hawks easily pass. DeBrincat is really good. Have to think it starts with Holloway and multiple 1sts. Oils should really focus on getting an actual goaltender and maybe a dman or two

Holloway and Bouchard (or Holloway + multiple 1sts) will need to be in any DeBrincat deal.

This isn't remotely close. To get Debrincat, you have to pay and pay a lot. He's 24, on a good cap and is an elite goal scorer.

I wouldn't think Debrincat gets more than Eichel does and this package is very smiliar in value (just a bit lower than what Vegas gave up). It would be great for the Blackhawks if they can haul in more but I don't see them getting much better value in another trade. Plus he's only under contract for this year and next, I'd expect a huge pay raise for him which might scare some teams away who are tight in cap.

The difference is he doesn't want out of CHI. And BUF get more for Eichel under different circumstances.

Still not enough reason for a team to give up more for Debrincat than one would for Eichel.

And financial flexibility this year + the ability to discuss his next contract under your own terms + not coming off ground breaking neck surgery blah blah blah but what do we know

Eichel wanted a trade which gave Vegas leverage.

Im sorry but I don't see this as remotely close to what Vegas gave up for Eichel who demanded a trade out of Buff and came with a huge cap hit whilst being injured.

I mean you haven't even offered up any of the top prospects in the system, nor have you given up any quality NHL player.

Krebs was their #1 prospect and Tuch was widely considered to have one of the most team friendly deals in the NHL whilst still giving great production.

A comparable Eichel trade from EDM would be

puljujarvi - Re-signed on team friendly deal
Broberg/Hollaway
1st
2nd

And TBH, I would still say no.

Imagine having to pay three players over 8M

This website’s worst nightmare

Because Debrincat’s next contract will be over that

Still the package for Debrincat shouldn't be more than what Vegas gave up for Eichel. It should be very similar and probably just a little bit lower than what Arizona wants for Chychrun (young nhl player + top prospect + 1st). In the deal you get a top prospect in Bourgault and the 1st, Samorukov who has been developed nicely and will likely play in the NHL next year and some smaller pieces. I think the dear is fair in value and I doubt any team wants to give up a big pacakge for one player seeing it took so long for an Eichel trade and also seeing no Chychrun trade yet.

With all due respect to Bourgault, he's not the oilers top prospect, Not including Bouchard anymore, that moniker would be bestowed upon Holloway or Broberg and Samurokov is an LD with which we have a mountain of guys just like and some even better. The Chychrun deal would be less than what the Cat gets whilst I don't agree that the Cat gets less than Eichel. That could change if he demanded a trade and we lost leverage but as things stand we hold all the cards and all the leverage.
