Description

Petry gets to be with his family.
While his contract is expensive, he could be serviceable in a smaller role and a change of scenery could hopefully help.

I'm a Habs fan and I'd want to keep Petry but I really think he'd be better off in Michigan. He'd be closer to his family and he'd be playing with more heart I think. Also, being away from the Montreal media would do wonders I'm sure too.

I get that Petry has been hot garbage this season, but he literally had a career year last season. It entirely unrealistic to expect the Habs to pay to dump him.

Montreal definitely isn't paying someone to take on Petry, we'd rather hope for a bounceback/let him mentor guys like Romanov, Guhle, Norlinder, etc than dump him, there's also a decent chance that when Edmundson comes back, he helps Petry since they were partners for most of last year

Yeah nah...

Petry's season right now is not an outlier... The guy has had 3 consecutive 40+ seasons in a row just before that. He is playing with something.... either physical or mental right now. It is not the same man.

therefore, that offer is well below his value and will be counter with a generous laugh and a counter of Petry for Seider and Raymond, followed by a see you at the draft.

Habs can’t do this. With losing Weber, he’s too important no matter how bad he’s played. We don’t have prospects on the right ready to step in.

The return would have to be something big….something no team would consider

If Petry has no value, the Habs will just keep him. He can mentor our young guys and bridge the gap until they're ready.

Habs are DEFINITELY not PAYING another yeam to take petry. Habs are asking for a 2nd and 3rd, or else we rather just keep him
