If that is all Tro costs, he would stay in Carolina

I'd offer him up to 7mil, but not sure Yzerman would.

They aren't getting an Eichel return.

Chicago wants the moon for DeBrincat they aren't going to take that.

I mean tbh what Eichel got would be accurate for what Cat should get. He’s a top goal scorer in the league. I just think they’re expecting like something that has the equivalent of like 5 1sts.

They'll get more....if they trade him. They don't need to. This deal doesn't move the needle, Zadina looks very average and the Hawks aren't going the Bowman route of former high end picks from four years ago.

I'm in for trochek, I think Carolina envisioned kotkaniemi taking his spot next year but I'm not sure what exactly they do. Even if Chicago sells and rebuilds cat is what 24, he'd be a piece they keep I'd think. I think lindholm is the guy wed all want to see signed.

Then you're not getting DeBrincat. If you want a top 5 goal-scorer on a terrible team, you'll need to give up a lot. Zadina hasn't proven himself yet, so he doesn't get it done.

DeBrincat is a 40 goal scorer who also kills penalties when someone's out. He's basically untouchable. He's as close to a perfect 200 foot player the hawks have seen since Toews was in his prime.

Why would CHI make that trade? Absolutely no reason.

Hawks would ask for Edvinson in a Debrincat trade

Hawks have literally no reason to trade debrincat. It'd take a ridiculous offer for them to consider doing so. More than what injured eichel got after requesting a trade.

Even better his contract expires in 2024 and we know Stevie hates paying players a s*it load of money and DeBrincat would demand at least 8.5M

You're right, probably more. Cat isn't injured, his cap hit is a fraction of Eichel's, plus he's got another year on his contract and then a RFA versus Eichel being a 4 years left and a UFA.

I'd argue they should get slightly more then Eichel. Cat isn't injured, his cap hit is a fraction of Eichel's, plus he's got another year on his contract and then a RFA versus Eichel being a 4 years left and a UFA. Plus Cat plays a full 200ft game in addition to being able to put up 40 goals; and he's over a year younger. All these points add up to Cat being arguably slightly more valuable then Eichel.

Debrincat is Edvinsson, 2023 first rounder, plus two more pieces of medium value (aka decent prospect or established player)

DET and CHI fans will never agree but Debrincat is a true superstar and will probably transcend Panarin in the right situation. So yeah Detroit he is that valuable especially as a hometown hero and true star that Detroit needs on offense. And to be honest looking at Detroit I’d rather have Debrincat than gamble on a first round pick and some medium pieces being lost. The real pain is losing edvinsson. So idk DET do you wanna make the jump to success or stay gambling rebuilding for 3-4 years?
