Buffalo has had 9 straight drafts with a top 8 pick or better and 2 first overall, and yet they are rebuilding again. Eichel...traded. Reinhart...traded. Ristolainen....traded. Nylander....traded. It's not the players, its the ownership and management. Nothing will change.

It is the leafs fans trashing the sabres that do it for me. A team that owes all their success to the draft lottery and still cant get out of the first round

Question is, would Bedard pull a Berard (or a Lindros)?

i did not trash the sabres, in fact i said they have a better future outlook than a lot of people seem to think.

But - a team that owes their success to the draft lottery? Come on man, the leafs won the lottery once for Matthews and that was when they were dead last and a laughing stock. The sabres had 2nd and 1st overall picks very recently, I'd argue they had better draft position luck, but just couldn't build well enough around it to be in playoff contention. Also a fan of a team that hasn't made it to the playoffs since 2011(even when it got expanded to 24 teams) can't chirp a team who has made it 5 straight years, regardless of how successful those 5 playoff appearances were

Nylander and Ristolainen were horrible players. Sabres under Adams have been fine.

Management drafted them, no? And the way Adams and ownership treated Eichel was terrible. They are no different under Adams and I think you will realize that when they are rebuilding again in 5 or 6 years.

Yeah previous management. And Adams did nothing wrong with Eichel. The Sabres orthopedic doctor created the surgery that Jack wanted and he didn’t even feel like it was a good idea. They got a top center prospect and a winger that is currently a point per game.

You have no issue with the entire drama and how they treated their star and captain? Well, Vegas is happy about it.

Eichel matter was a bit of Adams and Bots term. Bott broke the relationship and the doctors didn't agree with the surgery and adams trusted the team, Eichel is great but he didn't deserve captain. He gave up in games and created losses when he was frustrated as captain. New captain Okposo(not named captain I know) is way more steady and it's benefited the young players.

Yes they can if they have the most recent playoff series win out of both teams.

Enjoy 1st round playoff exits until mathews leaves for AZ and marner gets sick of talking about not scoring powerplay goals and exits as well. Should be fun times then watching spezza simmonds and engval tear it up on the first line

lol at least our management can rebuild we'd be back in playoff contention within 3-6 years instead of 3-6 decades

Your management is quite literally going to all be unemployed by this summer if they lose in the first round again...
