Oh please. Fox and DeBrincat aren’t even on the same level. Fox is far better and you know it. If anything, the Rangers might be overpaying here given that all of DeBrincat’s success this season has been through goal scoring and nothing else.

That is not at all correct, DeBrincat is the 3rd best goal scorer in the league only behind Ovechkin and Matthews. He has a strong 2-way game as well. DeBrincat is the forward version of Fox/McAvoy, you are just biased

The fact that you said "The Rangers might be overpaying here" is laughable

Unless a player like DeBrincat is coming back to Chicago, he isn't getting traded.

This is the sort of package you'd offer for Kane with a year and a bit left on his deal. We are talking about a 24 year old elite goal scorer in the NHL. Something every team craves, he also comes with a very nice team friendly deal for the time being and is of utmost value to the Hawks.

You will have to pay A LOT more to get the discussions going on this one.

Wrong. Draisaitl and Kreider are also ahead of him and I guarantee that players like Rantanen, Guentzel, Kyle Connor, possibly Terry, and possibly Stamkos will end up with more goals than him. Calling him the forward version of Fox is wishful thinking.

A bust, late first, and 3rd line player, a good prospect doesn't get Debrincat.
Starts with Kakko and Schneider and even then wouldn't trade Debrincat

Sorry, but that’s not how it works. As evidenced by the Jack Eichel to Vegas trade, big name players don’t go for humongous packages anymore. If DeBrincat gets dealt, the Hawks will send him to an Eastern Conference team and if/when that’s the case, they aren’t getting more than something like this.

A 3rd line player, a good prospect, a late 1st, and a late 2nd got Vegas Eichel, who’s a far better player than DeBrincat. And don’t give me the “he was hurt” excuse because everyone was still expecting Buffalo to get more than what they got.

I don't think you've thought this through. Eichel had a damaged neck a 10m+ cap hit and demanded a trade to leave and was not playing until he was traded.

If you want to compare the 2 trades,

Eichel received the top prospect from Vegas (Krebs), A guy widely regarded to have one of the most team friendly deals in the league and has good production (Tuch), along with an unprotected 1st and 2nd round pick.

Chytil and Kravtsov wouldn't net you Tuch, Lundkvist whilst I like him as a prospect, is not exactly top prospect material nor is that position something of a need for us and then you add the 1st great but leave off the 2nd.

Even if you'd like to compare the Eichel trade to this, you will have to do better.

Btw, I wouldn't trade the Cat for the Eichel trade return after making the Jones move. I doubt I would be alone on that.

1st of all Buffalo f*cked up the trade and situation, by Eichel not getting his surgery decreased his value and that's a fact. Your just biased, and when other people from different fan bases says this is a bad trade ,it's a bad trade. I know you'd be complaining if this was the offer for Panarin or Fox.

I wonder if we offered, Kubalik, Strome, Beaudin + 1st if he would send us Panarin?

Unfortunately if the Rangers traded one of those two to a Western Conference team, they’ll get just about as much as my trade offer for DeBrincat. They may try to highball for awhile but it won’t work. That’s just how trades are today. Unless you’re McDavid or Draisaitl, then trading for superstar players is only made hard by a GM’s stubbornness. In terms of the final packaged return, it’s never as much as you want it to be.

Wishful thinking? Im not even a Hawks fan.

Since entering the league in 17/18 DeBrincat is 10th in goals scored. In a 2016 redraft he would go between 3rd and 5th, same with Fox

You're way off base here. Eichel, who's injured and demanded a trade plus has a $10M cap hit and a UFA in 4 years simply does not hold the same trade value as Cat who just turned 24 years old a month ago, is playing on fire, friendly cap hit for another year and then RFA so the owning team has his career locked up, 2 way player and elite goal scorer. Sorry man, totally apples and oranges and Cat today is more valuable then Eichel was a few months ago due to the reasons listed above.

Ok well…as it is the Hawks already traded Panarin practically for peanuts several years ago and he was only a year older than DeBrincat is now while being a far better player. Oh and he was fully healthy as well. So no I’m not off base in the slightest.

LMAO that example isn't remotely close, that was due to contracts and cap issues
