Description
I am aware this is very unrealistic but I saw someone on Twitter asking what every teams trade offer for Draisaitl would be so I wanted to take a shot at it with the b’s. Edm gets 3 guys who can step right into their lineup and help plus a great prospect in lysell and a decent prospect to take a chance on in studnica. Getting rid of Carlo opens the door for the bruins to go at klingberg as well.

Again I know this is not happening, just a bit of fun imagining the top 6 here.

This isn't the NBA. 1 player isn't worth 7 assets cause they don't impact the game as much, they're only on the ice for maybe 40% of the game.

No team is overspending like that for any player, outside of maybe McDavid.

Its Leon Draisaitl though and three of those pieces in this proposal are a 3rd, Debrusk and Studnicka which aren't overly valuable.

Jack Eichel was dealt for 4 pieces. Eichel is substantially better than Draisatil. You're telling me that you think Draisaitl is better and more valuable than Eichel by 3 assets?

DeBrusk could still easily turn it around and be a 25 goal scorer as a power forward, there's value in him. Stud nicks has proven to be a point producer at every level so far, so there's value there. A pick is what you make of it, but hey Brayden Point in the 3rd round didn't seem too bad.

The point is, a lot of people on here don't seem to know how value works and they spurt out random things that they want or are bias and want too much. But you have to look at how much each player iMovie to the game to determine their value. In the NBA, guys are on the court far more so when a guy like James Harden is dealt for a massive package it makes sense because he impacts the game more. In hockey, guys are lucky to play 25 minutes a night so about 40% of the game (especially forwards). So the impact isn't there. This return for Draisaitl alone is loaded with guys that still take up time and impact (or potential time and impact) that far exceed the 40% of Draisatil.

It's just way overvaluing Draisaitl likely because the user just looks at how many points he records. But points alone don't determine value.

Only reason edm accept that is because they have good youngsters plus swayman but without swayman decline

You really think eichel is better than draisaitl. You must be joking.

Dude if I'm MacCrimmon and Holland foolishly calls and says I'll send you Draisaitl for Eichel I tell Eichel pack your bags you're going to Edmonton. I call the league office while I'm still on the phone with Holland

Not to argue your points but Eichel also wasn’t dealt while in full health. Eichel, while you say he is better, has never come close to the points Drais puts up. Now you want to rebuttal with “he plays with McD”, but when McD has been out of the line up for long periods of time, it never slowed Drais down. Now factor in contract, 10M vs 6M…. Chych is getting a bigger package specifically because of contract $, if he was paid the 8M he’s worth then it would be less. So factor the following, 4M less per season is a hefty difference, Eichel would have gotten another 1st if healthy and playing, now the argument of who is the superior player, many would suggest Drais but let’s pretend they are even steven. The Drais package will be bigger than the Eichel one.

Stars are going to pass. There's nothing in that package that really helps Dallas get better.

Seven 5th rounders for draisaitl? Too much?

This is a poor take you have

What context is needed under “1 player isn’t worth 7 assets.” That’s a blanket, definitive statement, and it’s a really poor one. The NHL has pretty vast asset inequality, probably more so than any sport other than baseball.

Spitting out **** like "7 5th round picks for Draisaitl" is nothing other than trying to start ****. Have some common sense.

Please, name me the last trade in the NHL that was 7 assets for 1..

It’s called a hyperbolic example to prove a point. You should be able to figure that out.

Oddly enough, you’re right about seven-for-one trades not being a thing, but you couldn’t be further off about the reasoning. It’s because 999 times out of 1,000, it’s quantity not quality, so it’s actually short on value. You don’t think vegas would have been over the moon if buffalo called up and said, “on second thought guys, we’re actually looking to round out our organizational depth. We’re now looking for seven pieces. So scratch the first, maybe it two seconds. Ditch krebs and make it two lesser prospects.”

In order for an actual seven plus for one trade to happen, it would have to be a trade of such magnitude that not only are the seven pieces included, but they’re also super high value. But that’s never going to happen, right? That would have to be like a 1st overall pick generational talent traded when he’s a teenager.

Hmmmm, wait a second, that has happened. Would you look at that, it was 10-for-one. Two first round picks, forsberg, hextall, a boat load of cash etc.

So you're going to completely ignore all the circumstances that effected Eichel's value then? Also Draisaitl has a lower caphit then Eichel so there's that.

Sure Debrusk could, not saying he has no value but he's not some super valuable piece, he'd be like the 4th or 5th most valued piece in this proposal coming from Boston.
No Studnicka has not proven to be a point producer at the NHL level yet cause if he had he'd be with the Bruins right now and not in the AHL.

Yeah there's the Brayden Points and other past 3rd round gems but there's also a ton of 3rd rounders that didn't amount to anything.

Just cause there's a few extra pieces of moderate value doesn't make it some outrageous proposition.
