Not entirely true. Just not enough prospects they could justify parting with for a hot Chyc.

I really only commented because I wanted to call Chycrun a "hot Chyc".

They do! Swayman and Lysell are that caliber. One of them is even in this trade.

I’ve actually been thinking for a couple days that a package built around swayman for chychrun makes a lot of sense.

Fight that urge. John Ferguson Jr. succumbed in June of 2006 when he traded Rask. He has probably thought of that every day of his life since then let alone the misery it created for all those Leaf fans for all these years.

I actually have met JFJ a couple times. I’ve heard his logic for that trade. He doesn’t regret it, and his logic was sound. Just a horrid outcome.

Anyway, the leafs didn’t have a Tuukka Rask when they traded Tuukka Rask. The bruins do.

Also, i think we can all agree that Chychrun is a bit of a better asset than Andrew Raycroft.

No matter the logic I don't believe he doesn't regret it. Regret is an inherent part of human nature.

They do but this version of Tuukka Rask is soon to be 35 and in the twilight of a great career. No guarantee he even plays next year.

Chychrun is a nice asset but is the difference between him and Swayman 2 NHL defensemen, a first and a second? Like the Rask for Raycroft deal it's a calculated gamble with the fact that a young goalie is involved adding to the wildcard factor. Understand your position but I'm for holding on to Swayman.
