Detroit will pass on that bertuzzi trade. Legare isn't anything special. Pettersson may have turned his play around a bit but he doesn't have a ton of value. Blomqvist is a nice piece and I won't argue with having two really good goalie prospects in the system. The first mid to late. Ideally if a player like Bertuzzi is traded I would expect a top 6 or future top 6 centre be involved.
Staal won't waive for any team.
Edmonton won't move their first, plus you would need to retain and likely take money back.

Edmonton says no. Staal has an NMC. Now that could mean he wants to go to a contender or he wants to stay in Detroit. If he does start in Detroit I would expect to see him working for the Wings in the near future. Wow that Bertuzzi trade is awful for Detroit.

Bertuzzi is having a great year and I do not see Wings dealing him.

I can't see Los Angeles needing or wanting a 35-year-old UFA LD. Barring multiple injuries, we can just run out the year with Maatta, Wolanin and Moverare. More likely is to trade for a younger LD with some term.

Bertuzzi trade is awful for Detroit

Leddy+Nams doesn't pull a 1st, even with retention

Staal trade is somewhat realistic tho doubt LA will be buyers

Legare is a garbage prospect. I'm not going to haggle about Pettersson, but I just don't see this trade making sense for DET. If for whatever odd reason they decided to move him, they can certainly get a larger haul than the Pens are willing/able to offer.

Hextall has been pretty adamant that the Pens' 1sts are off-limits. Would Bertuzzi be a case where he'd break that rule? Who knows, but saying he would, the best the Pens can probably offer is a 1st, Kapanen, one of the goalie prospects and pick of whatever our best skater prospects are, which obviously aren't anything much although Pusstinen and O'Connor have some serious potential. Regardless, the Pens would get outbid easily.

I guess we will have to see where the market is for Leddy and nams at the deadline, alot of people think he's worth a first with retention. I feel if we get back what we paid we win with Leddy.

Can't even afford that. Detroit would have to take contract back (probably Koskinen.) Or, Detroit can retain % of Leddy

If Edmonton was giving a 1st which I don't see happening I'd retain as much as possible on both of them and take Koskinen.
