The Rangers trading their #1 RW prospect and their disgrunted RW prospect, which they are short on, for a position they dont really need is ridiculous.
Then the Rangers continue to trade away RW players for another position of strength, LW, only to continue to block Lafreniere from moving up.
While not at all addressing the fact that the Rangers will have only Zibanejad at center when the year is over.

Talk about going crippling a very good team that really only needs small tweaks.

U trying to compete with Miller as your 2LD? They need a more ready player if they wanna compete now

Theyve been doing just fine as is. Whats more worrisome is going into the playoffs with Nemeth as a defensive starter. Thats what they need to address.

I mean if they trade anything I would think its one of those ld prospects since you have like a bunch.

It's definitely not the only 1st round pedigree Chris Drury drafted

This ACGM doesn't even have Nemeth starting

I understand that, hes talking about Miller being the 2nd pair LD being a problem. Im talking about Nemeth being our 3rd pair LD actually being the problem.

I get it, but LD is not the position to be focusing our efforts to upgrade.

It is if you don't want Nemeth playing though.

What I mean is you dont use some of your top assets, especially when they are of a position that you have no depth at, to upgrade LD. Calvin De Haan would be plenty adequate of an upgrade over Nemeth that wont cost a whole lot.

Oh yeah I'm with you about the asset management (Not to mention I can't see Drury trading the only prospect he drafted in the first round) but I see no reason not to pursue a high name LD if you're already pursuing a LD. Calvin De Haan is just barely better than K'Andre Miller to me.

Barely better is still better, and wayyyy better then Nemeth.

The Rangers main focus should be trading for JT Miller, especially if management believes that Strome will seek a pay day and price himself out. We cant go into next year without a 2C. THEN and only then, you can look towards Chychrun and see if that works for us. However, we cannot be trading Othmann. Things are still up in the air with Kakko and we cant trade our stud RW prospect who could end up in the lineup at some point next year... because we have no one else.

But you wouldn't take the upgrade over Miller?

So in a nutshell…Rangers would be trading Pavel Buchnevich for Jake DeBrusk.

There is nothing in this ACGM that would indicate the Rangers will absolutely 100% make both of these trades.

It only illustrates what I think was on the table separately for Chychrun and DeBrusk.

Nothing more than a hunch.

I get it, and what Im saying is the Rangers, trading away 3 RW's to pick up a LD and LW in positions that arent their biggest need is nuts.
