I love Miller but this is way too much. Can't afford him next year either.

I think the Wild are giving up way to much. Miller is a great player but I don't think it would be worth it for MIN to give up Addison AND Rossi

I dunno if Rossi would fit in Vancouver. Don't get me wrong he's a great player, but I think he wouldn't fit here. But maybe Addison and a 1st? O'rourke potentially

Miller is great but I don’t think the wild are going to dip into the rentals at all. If anything they’ll bring up rossi as their top6 center for the playoffs.

Minnesota isn't giving up Rossi or Calen addison! They didn't for eichel, and they aren't for 1.5 years of JT Jt is more Winger than C

You are overvaluing Miller to a ridiculous extent here.

That's the main thing. If they don't play Rossi enough this year to prevent his ELC from sliding, they'll get 3 years of his ELC during the 3 most painful years of the Parise/Suter buyouts. Addison shouldn't be too expensive to extend on a bridge deal during that time so really no reason to move those guys. Players like Fiala and Greenway are far more likely to be on the table in any trades.

Always see people say "they didn't for eichel they won't for "x" ". Not just with Minnesota fans but for other teams too. There are several differences that make trades different than an eichel trade

1. Eichel has 10m for 5 yrs. You have to figure out a way to make that contract work. A lot easier to fit in a guy for 5 million than it is for 10million no matter how much you like the 10million player.

2. The packages for eichel were likely bigger. I'm sure they would have given up Rossi in an eichel deal if there weren't other major pieces but when you're asking for Rossi on top of another top prospect and multiple picks then of course your not willing to give up Rossi.

Now I agree that minny likely wouldn't give up Rossi AND Addison in a single trade but it's not because Rossi is untouchable.

I could be wrong but I don't think the contracts slide if they're playing in the AHL. I believe it only slides if they're playing junior or Europe.

& they wouldn't move either for JT Miller! No disrespect but wild aren't ever moving Rossi or Calen addison for a player whose old and free agent in 1.5 years! Canucks fans are overvaluing JT

It slides if they don't play 10 games in NHL

If anything teams and fans overvalue prospects over proven nhl players - JT Miller is a man Rossi and Addisons are boys - I think your only valid point is Miller's term

AHL games don't count, only NHL. William Nylander is the best example I can think of for a player who had his contract slide. He was under contract with the Leafs in 2014/15 and despite playing in 37 games with the AHL Marlies that season, his contract slid a year.

Term plus the cost to resign him. Also worth mentioning both Rossi and Addison were brought in under Guerin and GMs tend to overvalue their own players over players they've inherited from the previous regime.

I think this point needs to be made more often. Guerin wasn't willing to give up Rossi PLUS all the other stuff the Sabres wanted for Eichel. If Buffalo had said we want Rossi and we'll take Rask to help make the salary work, Rossi would probably be in the Sabres organization right now.

Exactly.

Eichel ended up getting Tuch, Krebs, 1st, 2nd.

I'd imagine a similar package they would have wanted from Minny would have been

Fiala, Rossi, 1st, 2nd (and Rask for cap)

Guerin was unwilling to include Rossi in a package like that.
