Keep him then, not trading two 1sts and a 2nd for Toffoli and I can pretty confidently say Chevy would never make that deal.

Yeah I agree

Yeah I agree

What a delusional fanbase for the most part, don't want to be mean but they're mostly delusional with their valuations and pretty greedy too.

You would think if Habs players were all this valuable, they'd be a lot higher in the standings

These are all really bad, if the habs players were worth this much they'd be fighting for a playoff spot

Every fanbase has some crazy fans. But the leafs and habs are above all. It’s insane. Some of them are awesome, and some are crazy.

Not agreeing with these values, but it's not simply the players that are the issue. This whole season has been primarily a coaching issue.
Even the key injuries aren't sufficient excuse, nor is the roster construction. This is far from the worst team Montreal has ever iced, but they have been historically bad.

You’ve done nothing wrong in my eyes to make you crazy. These trades favour the habs quite a bit. But every fan is biased to their team. I’ve definitely made some bad trades on here. I just think when you argue value when there are multiple people from multiple teams saying it’s not fair, it doesn’t look great, but that’s not to say you shouldn’t argue value if you think it’s fair. Maybe try and take a step back, remove the bias and look at it objectively.

Jets desperately need to add a top 6 RH winger. This checks that off. I’m trying to take the mindset of the team, they’re in win now mode. You gotta give quality to get quality.

They might be in win now mode, but they are soooo far from win now mentality. Something is severely wrong, there is no identity with this team. We would fold like a cheap lawn chair in the 1st round. Coaching is still suspect, FeFe is still lackadaisical as ****, wheels still runs the team and our special teams still specially suck.
I don’t want any assets spent on an early exit this year. I would rather quickly retool, sell Copp, one of Schmidt or Dillon and try to get as many assets or picks. New coach, fire the **** Huddy, and start anew next year. Put FeFe and Wheels in their place, new system, play Samberg, Heinola, Perfetti, Smith and see what happens

I agree with everything you said. I’m trying to be realistic though, the team thinks they’re further ahead than they are. So In saying that they likely are in win now mode/mentality. I could see them entertaining a deal like this even though it wouldnt be the right move. Jets do need a top 6 RW though. Unless smith comes from college and can fill that spot.

I think you have to retool this year, sell off expiring pieces like Copp and stas for a playoff run. Trade Schmidt too.

No, this season has been lots of issues, number one is that the habs arnt good at hockey.
The past two seasons they wouldn't have even sniffed the post season if it wasnt for covid and their players just got older and worse since

Chevy should be fired if he makes a panic move like the one above when simple coaching and holding players accountable would fix many of our issues. Our roster is good, the attitude of some players are not, and our systems are woefully inadequate and no amount of trading will fix that. Trade like above are simply putting lipstick on a pig.

Covid hurt them more than some others. They had an insane schedule last season, and their top two producers the previous year were Tatar at 61 points, followed by Danault at 47.

Your argument is that if you aren't fighting for a playoff spot, you don't have good players? That obviously doesn't hold up. Seems like irrational hate for the team.

My point is they dont have very many good players and thats why they weren't fighting for a playoff spot

Especially for the Wild and Jets, you don't seem to appreciate other teams cap situation for next year and even the year after. Just doesn't work for them
