Ilya Samsonov - 3 years at 925k per year

You guys are gonna let him sign Samsonov without doing any homework on the player?
Look anywhere online, Samsonov is under contract in the KHL until 2017-18. He won't be joining Washington until he's out of that deal. It is why they haven't been able to sign their star prospect yet.

However, Washington is allowed to trade his rights. Also, since he was drafted from the KHL, his rights with Washington do not expire.

Since Washington owns his rights and they don't expire he can just sign Samsonov to his ELC whenever, only stipulation is his KHL deal has to end first am I understanding this right?

The only reason I wanna sign him is because I want him as a trading chip. The caps could trade his NHL rights right now the same way Dallas can trade Nischushkin's rights.

I already put my opinion when it was first brought up. Personally, I don't assign much value to a player who avoids signing/playing for the team that drafted him anyway, and his trade value reflects that.
As far as I'm concerned he's a ghost until he signs an ELC anyway.

Players should only be signed when they are actually signed in real life.

Rangers said it was OK. He's a prospect in the organization and this is a mock. Boston is in talks to sign him, so I don't see an issue with being able to sign him.

I was thinking of signing Calvin de Haan to a 5 year 3.5 mil per contract. Does that seem reasonable?

Not sure how this thread works. I'd like to extend and RFA offer to Tim Schaller for 900k 1 year

I won't do it until Rangers "oks" it or someone fills me in if it's ok to do.

If you haven't traded Tim Schaller, you can make that signing.
