Winnipeg won't be retaining on Dillon if they trade him.

How did Stanley go from a potentially painful Expansion casualty to getting traded?

Probably a combination of struggles from Stanley and good play by Samberg (in small sample size) who could fill the role of physical young defenseman.

Yeah and after the Schmidt and Dillon acquisitions and combined with other D prospects, Stanley is at the bottom of the list. His size and willingness to be physical are still great traits though, but for Winnipeg, there isnt really a good fit anymore.

Might have to for an Edmonton trade? I think they have limited cap space.

The problem with retention on the Dillon contract is that it is two years after this one, so the Jets won't want to tie their hands in terms of cap in the future. Edmonton would have to get Arizona or someone like that to retain or send an expiring contract back to balance the salary. Multiple years of salary retention is a non-starter.

I don’t think Maurice was the problem

The Jets record with Maurice: 13-11-5
The Jets record with Lowry: 4-4-2 (will be 4-5-2 by the end of tonight most likely)

I know Jets fans will kill me for this but Lowry ain’t it

I've been saying the same thing. New guy has a worse record than the old guy.

Edit: Maurice was on pace for a 91 point finish (out of the playoffs). Lowry has the Jets on pace for a 85 point finish (better draft position).

I knew Maurice was a problem but I knew he wasn't the only problem, this team just isn't good enough.

What is the best case scenario for the Jets coaching search? Isles fire Trotz and Jets hire him?

Well for one if we traded him to Edmonton they should get two picks back to somewhat replace the ones they gave up to acquire Dillon, not much interest in Foegele, personally I'd be willing to take an expiring contract back to make the cap work for Edmonton.

It was Bruce Boudreau, other then him idk, maybe someone from Europe?

Trotz has some Maurice tendencies that concern me.

Google tells me that Rikard Grönborg is an interesting coaching candidate. That said, the Jets will probably hire Nik Ehlers' dad or PLD's dad. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nah, they'll make papa Lowry the official head coach, can Huddy and Kompon, promote Dubois' dad from the Moose ro replace Huddy and hire Ehlers dad to replace Kompon, that'll give them the trifecta of hockey dads coaching... 🤣

The Jets aren't trading 2 defenseman they need for a bottom 6 guy they have no use for.

Right now it is #14 so the Jets would have to be sub-500 to get a top 10 pick. There is still time to get there 😐 and if new coach maintains his .455 winning percentage, the Jets would end up at .488.
