Gibson is worth a hell of a lot more than that

So the capitals trade one of their better defensive prospects and a 2nd...

For a year of Ryan Getzlaf, who likely wouldn't fit into the current cap situation in DC?

woof.

Edit: No way this isn't a troll job, looking at that Gibson trade.

good for him but thats insane value for someone who's at best a 3rd liner. I wouldn't go after him in the first place given his cap hit, but if Washington were to ask for him, they would have to go for a very low price, like a 3rd or a 4th. Its likely the only way it makes sense for DC, and Anaheim probably wouldn't accept that return anyway.

Doesn't really matter anyway...Getz is a Duck until he doesn't want to be a Duck again. Had every opportunity to say "Yeah, send me out for a Cup run!", but didn't. He's got 3 young kids in SoCal. He ain't leaving.

As much as it would be nice to get something for him, I'm quite content to keep him until he retires.

Totally get that. As much as seeing Perry in a different uniform was weird, it would be even harder to imagine Getzlaf in anything but a Ducks jersey.

The problem with troll posts is that people have trouble ever taking you seriously again.

There isn't a single player you've acquired here, while trading away 6 valuable regulars, that I would want on the Ducks, with the possible exception of Jarnkrok.

That Arizona trade is one of the five worst trades featuring Anaheim I've seen on this site.
