Isles say no. Not trading Mayfield.

Oh man, I have a (weird) irrational dislike of Silfverberg, but there's really no reason for the Ducks to move him for Barrie. Drysdale/Shatty are already offensive d-men that can QB the powerplay, and aside from doing that (Yes, he does it very well), Barrie doesn't really fit.

I'd be fine moving Silf for an equal-ish contract on a dman with someone, but not for Barrie...he just doesn't fit.

Edit: Aside from that, it's the right plan.

That makes sense I guess. Value wise it’s not super far off id think.

Can we please stop it with the lowball offers for Varlamov and Mayfield? LOLIslanders left the stable a long time ago. Grow up pay attention to analytics and actual team value.

Varlamov alone requires at least a 1st rounder- Edmonton's not getting Fleury- and he's better than every other goalie on the market. That requires a competitive offer. Isles will also need a sweetener to just take Koskinen. And Mayfield's under contract for next season as well, at $1.45 million. That's an insulting offer and frankly childish work. Do your homework and not internet dunking crap.

Certainly deeper for the run...You're f*cked cap-wise this offseason (from what I can see at least...)

In fairness, this isn't the first team that Ceci has killed tears of joy

Can’t believe a team gave him that term and money. I really thought after his stint in Toronto , he’d end up overseas

Hahaha, maybe it was one of those "Well, the Leafs have a great analytics staff, so if they took Ceci once, that means he's underrated, right?" moments...

I would give up a 1st for a Connor Murphy type Dman and maybe a bit more before I’d sign Ceci for free

100%.

Semi-unrelated, but I kinda forgot about the 2012 draft...The four picks after Ceci were:
-Tom Wilson
-Tomas Hertl
-Teuvo Teravainen
-Andrei Vasilevskiy

Hindsight is 20/20, and my beloved Ducks had a lot of poor drafts, but man...imagine having prime Vasilevskiy...

Would’ve been insane. I actually wouldn’t have been mad if they took Cossa or Wallstedt instead of Boucher. Like if they took one of them over anyone in the top 9, I’d have been mad. But Sillinger or Coronato or Lucius weren’t that far off.

Yeah, Cossa is absolutely the goaltending prospect that I'd want on my team...6'6''/210, and has great movement...yeeeehaw.

Sogard is a great goalie too and huge. We took him over Lavoie, Hoglander etc. he’s putting up great numbers in his first AHL season
