Huge overpayment on both the Philly and Rangers deals.
- I like Braun and I know you included a 1st, but Broberg has way more value to the oilers than that package. Braun is best served on a bottom pairing and maybe a 2nd pairing shutdown role. He’s also a UFA. The oilers have spent a few years already developing Broberg and he’ll play a key role on this team. The only player I see him being moved for is like a Chrychrun.
- Georgiev has far from impressive numbers playing in a strong Rangers team. He also is unlikely to be qualified in the offseason from what I’ve seen. A 1st and good prospect is just way too much
I personally don’t like the Bruins deal. Value may not be horrible. But Foegele and Yamomoto have arguably been the oilers hardest working forwards for the oilers. They are also both on really cheap deals. DeBrusk isn’t worth his qualifying offer and Folignos grit would be nice, but he isn’t really producing enough to justify his cap hit.
The only reason I kind of am interested in that Seattle deal is that it gets rid of Kassian. I like Barrie but would consider this. Would it work if you swapped Gio for Soucy and maybe a player like Appleone? I just don’t think Gio is any good anymore and Soucy would fit in nicely in this lineup. Gio probably still has some perceived value so Seattle could still deal him to a contender for a decent pick.
