Things that stood out to me as too low:

Mesar - at 29?
Mintyukov - outside 1st?
Snuggerud - outside 1st?

...as too high

Yurov at 6

Montreal has there own first pick

I think your top 8 is pretty spot on. couple of interesting picks like Slafkovsky that low and belluz that high. McGraortys skating is so weak that I don't love having him in the top 10

besides that this is pretty solid. I do also like that you haven't kicked Lambert of the face of the earth like a lot have.

I dont get what people see in Mesar. He’s good, but not fantastic. And in an elite draft class like this, I don’t see him as higher than a late first right now. Snuggerud and Mintyukov are just outside the first. Again with such a strong class, there’s like 25 guys that I think could go picks 20-32. I love the size, speed, skill blend of Yurov, and he just plays like a Flyer to me.

Oh ok thanks. The picks stay the same. Kasper would be good for the Coyotes at the end of the first.

Elite skating

I get that. But there are players with more complete profiles that I value higher.

Slafkovsky is talented but the class around him is too. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him off the board sooner than I have him. Belluz has skyrocketed up my rankings over the past couple of months. Very good complete player. 200 foot guy with good speed. Thinks the game at an elite level. McGroarty is not a good skater, but he thinks the game at such a high level that I see him being able to overcome that obstacle. Not to mention that he has room to develop strength wise and stronger legs will make him more explosive. He’ll never be an elite skater but neither is Evgeni Malkin or David Krejci. They turned out alright.

Lambert shouldn’t be kicked off the face of the earth, but he shouldn’t go top 5 either. I think him having the Islanders taking him at 7 makes a lot of sense. Only issue is I think by the time the season ends Islanders will be picking somewhere between 10-15. I think Lambert could drop even further than 7. Horrible numbers in Liiga, recently loaned to the Pelicans and still showing nothing though it’s only been 2 games.
