Boeser won't be traded within the division even though the Kings are a good fit.

Motte isn't worth a 2nd to anyone as a rental and you'd have to get his passed through waivers for him to be an option for the Leafs without taking cap back as part of the deal.

I retained 50%, surely the Leafs can afford Motte at 600K

Not without passing someone else through waivers and at that point, why bother? Motte wouldn't be a top 12 forward on the Leafs, very questionable if he's even top 13. Not sure why the Canucks fans on here love trading him to Toronto.

Shouldn't BB still be part of the future core in Van, as follows:
* BB
* Bo
* Hugh
* EP
* Demko
* Pod
* Hog
* Gar...

These are guys of similar age.
Core.
Key experience in many of them, even as "kids" now.
That's the nucleus ^ ^ ^.

All other bodies are to be traded/upgraded.
Esp for same age/experience (AND IMPORTANTLY - Less CAP $$$).
AND THEN...
Go get an F'in Stanley before the 100yr Anniv of the franchise.

I can see the fit too, but that particular trade sucks for Vancouver

If the Leafs won't give a 2nd for him, someone else will

One last thing, Halak could fetch a higher draft pick than a 5th

and to those of you who have anything to say about "Braden Schneider being untouchable or anything"

Perfectly valid for Vancouver's asking price for Miller to include Schneider.

You just won't be getting him because NYR would never make this lopsided trade! 1.5 years of an overrated Miller is not worth the Rangers giving up the RHD prospect Canucks fans so desperately want.
