We're playing MTL tonight. Maybe Patrik Laine will pull one off.

I'd like that. Despite Laine's rep I like him. I want him to succeed. A confident Laine is the best Laine.

Laine has 16 goals in the last two years. Across the 5 years prior he had 140.. will he ever reach 20 goals again let alone 30/40.

Crazy how hard this guy fell.

I said score a michigan.

It'd be an achievement if he managed to score a goal.

He'd probably miss an empty netter.

Remember, he's the only player to pass backwards during a breakaway lol

Blake Comeau in an alternate universe:

That trade did him no favors.

The guy went from a new Ovechkin into a meh Hoffman.

Still the skillset is there. He needs his confidence back to return. Similar to Pettersson for instance.

That being said 17 points in 22 games this year isn't half bad.

I honestly think Columbus is not the team for him. Their system just is not good for his playstyle. I think either at the deadline or off-season they should explore a trade

I think Nashville could be a solid option

McCann doesn’t get talked about enough. He’s an elite finisher (on pace for 36 goals) and drives play at both ends of the ice. He deserves to get paid this offseason.

He's the 2nd coming of William Karlsson.

So it's not really a surprise lul

Who is the next player to score a michigan?

I'm thinking...it's either Cale Makar or Alex DeBrincat.

Better than paying a 1st + to lose Holl or Kerfoot instead. As Holl especially was hard to gauge due to his good numbers over the 2 years

Besides Kerfoot has been fantastic so despite the lower amount of goals the defensive advantage makes it all worth it

Also mccann probs would not have done well here due to less opportunities

I agree.

It more or less was about Pens deciding between losing Hållander+7th (McCann return) or Tanev. They chose Tanev.

He’s better than William Karlsson, this is the 3rd season Mccann is having an elite impact.

Who is the next player to score a michigan?

My bet is Matthews. He's got the skill to pull it off, I think he's tried it once? He's definitely faked it, and then just passed it to Nylander for a tap-in once. I reckon he pulls it off next. Either that or Mikael Granlund, the OG lacrosse goal scorer (did it at the WJC, Finland turned it into a stamp lol), reminds everyone exactly who the king of the lacrosse move is

That's 2 good guesses, I'd say Jack Hughes or Cale Makar as 2 guesses.

The world would stop if Ovechkin did it. But my guess is kuznetsov and zegras again

No no no that's boring. Go with some Canadian college goalie nobodies heard of. 5 teams have already done it this year lul

It's the new trend

Luongo!?
Except he's STILL DeadCap on Canooks and would likely cost about US$675,000 per night!

I would say Nylander as he seems like the type of guy to do it. Other than him....Laine, Atkinson, and whenever he comes to the NHL/AHL (Amirov)

Matthews could do it though as I believe he tried during the Coyotes game. But I dont think he will make a habit of it and it will end up not being a clean one lul

Edit: I now see Andrews point, that he later posts after the original tweet but I think my point still makes some sense.

To play devils advocate, I’d say Andrew looks like an idiot because almost 90% of chirps are things 14 year olds would say.

The NHL and it’s fans (it’s media and fans the most that want players to have more freedom); wants more personality/ flair yet when players show it they’re criticized pretty often.

I agree Marchand has been vocal a tad much lately to where it’s gotten a old when you make the same diss just in different circumstances; but I’d rather players like Marchand be vocal (especially since he’s a HOF).

Similar to Kucherov (which I again can see the “idiocy” in calling the other teams fans losers and what not) but it’s more enjoyable instead of hearing “the boys were good tonight” for the 80000000000000000000000000000000000 time.

That top part you said made me laugh out loud because it’s so true. Great job. Go dye your hair
