TDL Roster and Player Values

Created by: BuFfaLOFaN
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 26, 2022
Published: Jan. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
How I would play this team for the last 27 games after the TDL.

Obviously prices are what I'd like to see, but sell these players no matter what because none have value beyond this year IMO.
Trades
1.
BUF
If the Sabres could get a second for Eakin retained 50% that would be a win. A third or fourth wouldn't be a loss and if that's the best we could get I wouldn't be to disappointed.
    ANA
    1. Eakin, Cody ($1,125,000 retained)
    2.
    BUF
If any team find value upwards of a 4th/5th I'd trade them. Anything less keep them for depth reasons on the roster.
      3.
      BUF
Would trade him for anything, could retain 50% for a 5th/4th.
        4.
        BUF
Id seek a second and another later pick for either of these guys. If a offer for a first come in that would be great!
          ANA
          1. Miller, Colin ($1,925,000 retained)
          2. Pysyk, Mark
          5.
          BUF
Third round pick would be nice, 4th would be acceptable.
            6.
            BUF
              Minors or to the moon
              7.
              BUF
2nd for Vinnie, 4th for Caggiula, or somewhere in that range.
                8.
                BUF
Keep them in the Amerks, Quinn is going to be expensive so save yourself cap in 2024-25 and play him a maximum of 7 more games. Peterka should be left and he can use his 7 at the beginning of next year if he's NHL ready you keep him. Both are ELC slide canadites and giving Quinn and extra 20 games to burn both his rookie ineligibility and a year of ELC doesn't seem worth it. Especially when the games are going to be meaningless.

I think you overvalue several of these players...Eakin, Pysyk, Hagg

That is true, and purposefully so. My point with all of those players are they are your stereotypical player who gets overvalued and teams pay a second or sometimes more for when they are in contention.

Oh, okay perfect. Makes sense then. I've always said the the TDL and FA are the two days where GM's drastically overpay - in that case, you're bang on

I like the optimism, I just think you will be disappointed when none of those players get near that value. Hino is the only one with real value, perhaps Anderson if he comes back strong. Agree that Quinn and Peterka should be in AHL. Add Krebs and Power for the playoff run and thats a darn hard team to beat in the A

happyhappyhappy as well as in my description I said just sell them no matter what, won't be disappointed if they don't sell at premium value.

From a very optimistic vantage point, yes it is possible to see these returns.
A team that needs help winning face offs and PK Eakin could be very valuable. Colorado PK is running at 75% and they are winning only 47% of their FO, a 2nd would be nearly a 3rd.
Hayden would add some grit and Jankowski played in 80% of the Pens games last year, so I could see a team offering a 5th for them.
While Pysyk was a UFA, he did manage to get into 36 games for Dallas last year and finished with +6, if Mike Weber could fetch a 3rd, why not Mark.
Miller has been playing hurt and his offensive stats have suffered which may reduce his value. He is right handed, can skate well, has a hard shot is can defend reasonably well, he is currently worth no more than a third, but if he comes back after the surgery and score as well as he did the first 20 games sure a 2nd is very reasonable.
Hägg has absolutely bowled me over. He hits and blocks shots, same rational as Mike Weber, he could get as much as a 3rd.
Hinostroza success is a carry over from his 17 games with Chicago last year where he potted 4 goals and 12 pts. His output at nearly 0.5pt/gm could easily return a 2nd.
Caggiula IDK how to value him, but I think a 4th would a remarkable.
I sure hope Quinn or Peterka play less than 10 NHL games this year.

On a side note, please do not blame Dell for that horrible performance in Ottawa.
It was without a doubt one of the top 5 worse team efforts this year (the 2 Kraken, 2nd Wings and 2nd Tampa certainly stick out in my mind).
Having Skinner losing a goal, and is my memory correct Thompson missed a wide open net?
Then it went down hill from there.

                  EDIT:
Look at this Miller trade to TML and rad PalHal comment https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3020001
