I have no interest in Forsling TBH.. just wanted to remove salary on your side has I was healthy scratch twice earlier this season.
5,5M for Petry is not too expensive and back with a positive team like the cats... I could see is game back up

It's not that petry has been bad this year, it's that hes been very bad AND he's old AND his contract is terrible.
He has minimal value at best and that aint minimal value

Perry is really hard to trade rn, he is a cap dump at this point and no team will take him on without a sweetener unless they’re sure that he will bounce back. MTL should just ride it out.

All three teams say no, but especially Preds, since they get two cap dumps without any sweeteners.

Maybe but he’s a third pairing rhd on this team. He’s not needed. And forsling was not a healthy scratch. He’s missed time with Covid but he’s playing top 4 all year. Petry is too old and expensive for too long for this team. You’re stuck with him for
    A while

Wouldn’t trade the 2nd or Gurianov alone let alone both together.

Petry doesn’t seem like a hot commodity compared to other options in FA or in a trade, also his contract isn’t looking too good currently.

Unfortunately I don't know any GM that's going to trade for a 34 year old defenceman signed for 4 years at 6.25 million. I know it's possible he bounces back from this horrible season, but unless you're retaining half his contract I can't see any team wanting to give up anything for him right now. Just hang on to him and pray he has a better season next year

Petry's trade value dropped after he got re-signed long-term. He's too old and declining for anyone to get really interested at this point.

I wouldn't take him for free at this point. He's still okay but the risk of that contract becoming a huge burden outweighs the pros on this one.

without retention i think the habs have to add a significant piece to move his contract. with max retention it's hard to say.i dont think it makes sense for the habs to move him. just wait it out.

There is no point to trading Petry this year. I don't think a single team wants what he's bringing. Arguably MTL's worst dman all year. Mainly because of what he's capable of doing and simply not doing it.

He's still capable of being good, he still skates fast and shoots hard but whatever he has going on between the ears is just dominating his play right now. I've never seen a high end player forget how to play hockey as much as Petry has this year. This isn't age that's affecting him, he doesn't look slow or anything. Its his mental game. Its his confidence among other things.

Wait till next year when he hopefully rebounds and snaps out of whatever funk he is in. There is literally no where to go but up for him. I highly doubt he's this bad again next year. Then Hughes will at least know what he has in him still.

If he doesn't and he plays just as bad next year, as he has this year, I legitimately think they may need to buy him out or park him in the press box till his contract runs out.

Nashville has no interest in acquiring petry who is 34 and has a cap of 6.25M for 3 more seasons after this. He isn’t going to displace Fabbro or Carrier.

And Kunin to Armia is a huge downgrade for Nashville

He’s 34 and playing like garbage with a big caphit for 3 more years. I don’t think anyone would be trading for that in todays cap world with future cap raises still in question because Covid isn’t going away. His value right now is a contract of equal bad value or a slight add and a slightly worse bad contract. You’re best to see if he rebounds next season and go from there

People all look at is stats they and think they know all about hockey it’s pathetic. Petry in the past 4 season was rank in the top 30 of almost any categories. He have a terrible season just like everyone on the Habs team. But scout that have been watching him for the past 4 year no exactly what he can bring to a hockey club. He still have a decent value and if he is traded the Habs will get something interesting in return. He have a great shot, skate extremely well, he as a physical side on is game and joint the rush in a great way. Is biggest issues as im concern seem to be is leadership. But on the right team he would probably get back to is good habit and be a great all around defenseman.

Thanks for not appreciating other teams cap issues.....especially for what is apparently expensive dealing Dman with term.
That Dallas trade logic??????? So,what if Klingberg leaves, Dallas will use $$$$ to fill that position either internally, by UFA, or trade. But no sense to take Petry. And Nashville doesn't want 9m in cap in Armia and Petry.

He’s 34 and having a bad year. His contract is prohibitive for most teams. Teams would be taking a risk that it’ll turn around next year or in a new environment. If they’re wrong, they’re stuck with a bad contract and his value goes down further. I think he’ll rebound some next season but if I was a gm I wouldn’t take that risk with the way the cap looks. It’s just too big of a gamble unless your getting rid of an equally questionable Contract. He could rebound like Duchene and Granlund have this season or he could continue the spiral like turris, Neal, and lucic. There’s plenty of talented players that just fall off a cliff for some inexplicable reason.

I think the Canucks would consider a Myers for Petry swap. Not the return you're hoping for but it's 250k less and 1yr less of term. Myers is not a bad dman but is overpaid. Plays a lot of minutes for us but isn't a good stylistic fit beside OEL or Hughes which isn't ideal.

I think Canucks might take a chance on a Petry bounceback. Stylistically he should fit better with OEL of Hughes.

for you all.. Petry with 1M retain was the deal... so stop saying Petry at 6,25 is too expensive!
Tell me then 2M retention would be a good risk... but please read it all!

anything less than half retention is questionable at best.
