I Love JT but the Rangers aren't doing that. Would need retention at a minimum.

Dude…. The Sabres trade is laughable

Why would they take on over 11mil over the next few seasons,
for ONLY a 5th round pick???
Poolman is a 3rd pair defenseman who has NO trade value whatsoever to us

You’re gonna have to pay us WAY MORE than a 5th to get these Cap hits off your books

      So what?
Still have to pay his salary!

And it’s still over a 7.5mil cap dump in Poolman we are taking on

      Hell no
      Thanks anyways

Honestly if Stecher wants to go Vancouver I think Yzerman accepts. Detroit maybe can get a 7th for him and the chance of him resigning in Detroit isn't very good. Doing little things like that make Detroit a place that free agents want to go and thats worth more than a 7th rd pick.

Most NHL contracts are insured, I believe Ferland's is. So, it won't cost actual dollars. But there's no reason to move him unless a team need to get above the salary cap floor.

Actually, i don’t think it is

But even if it was, Insurance just pays PART of it

I had read somewhere else that it was. I guess only the Canucks know for sure. Either way, there is no reason to move his contract unless it helps a team reach the cap floor..

I hear ya, but these trades weren’t my idea
All I’m saying is that if Vancouver did wanna dump these guys on us (or any team), then it’s gonna cost MUCH more than a 5th round pick

      🤣🤣🤣
      Come on dude, get real

You’re asking us to take over $11mil
For comparison, the Leafs paid a 1st to have Marleau & his 6.25mil off their books

      You just aren’t even close

Ferland is LTIR, not dead money, and Poolman isn't completely devoid of trade value, he could get a late round pick

No they don't, Stecher has been consistently getting scratched when he's been healthy, he has little to no value

Poolman has been playing fine for a 3rd pair defender, worst case scenario, his play doesn't manage to keep up as the team's roster moves forward, then Vancouver might look to unload him by paying a late round pick or two, but there is a reason Poolman hasn't been placed on waivers, because he's been good enough to be a regular in the Canucks lineup

His contract isn’t insured, so it’s still REAL $$& we have to pay out
That’s gonna cost u something to get rid of him

And Poolman is a 3rd pair defenseman who i don’t see if being of interest to us, therefore he doesn’t have any value to us
Especially not for 3 more years
So again, that’s gonna cost u something to get rid of him

That still doesn’t mean we wanna lock him into our lineup for the next 3years
U can either offer something that intrigues us enough to take him off your hands (and pay the remaining $$$ he’s owed),
or u can just keep him

Poolman isn't going to stifle the Sabres rebuild, his deal will expire before they are fully ready to be competitive

Sure, but that doesn’t mean we’d want him in our lineup for the next 3yrs
Or that we’d wanna pay the rest of his contract

If u aren’t gonna give us something worthwhile to take him off your hands, then he’s all yours to keep

Buffalo isn't going to be a cap team for a while, they won't have any trouble fitting his salary under the cap. He isn't going to hurt anybody's lineup

True, but that doesn’t mean we WANT him
Idk why u can’t seem to understand that??
You’re obviously trying to get rid of him for a reason after all

And we as an organization are clearly trying not to spend a lot of $$$ right now
Just bc he fits under the cap doesn’t mean we wanna spend 2.5mil a year on a player we have no interest in
