Were Going to Create Cap Space - JR

Created by: CJJ
Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 26, 2022
Published: Jan. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This was solely based on JRs comments that he's 'clearing cap'. Are any of these realistic? I think they got more and more far fetched as I went along. Just for fun to clear as much cap as possible.
Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Chytil, Filip
  2. Schneider, Braden
  3. 2022 1st round pick (NYR)

  1. Miller, J.T. ($2,625,000 retained)
  2. Schenn, Luke
Additional Details:
Yes I am a Canucks fan and I am hopeful. But I think Miller is likely asset #1 teams want which could cause a bidding war. He's really damn good.

That OEL trade is unnecessary and so is the Horvat one. Everything else is fine

UFA Halak seems like the only reasonable deal other teams accept. The theory of "getting of rid cap", means other teams have to accept cap, which so many don't have.

Both teams decline on the Horvat trade. Avs don't need Horvat, and you should keep your captain.

So, now we have cap space, but we suck. Next, JR and everyone he hired are run out of town and Rogers arena is burnt to the ground.

Can't see VAN moving Horvat but I'd have to consider that trade if I were Joe. Would be tricky with him due the same time as MacK though.

Detroit doesn’t touch that. They acquired Ned and Cossa so goalie isn’t a need and our RD is already set.
