Letang's turning 35. You don't want to sign him to a 5 year deal at this point, especially at that cap.

Truthfully the term is only to get the cap hit down. the final 2 years likely will not matter when the team is trending downwards. I also can see Letang being a good player at 39 years old with his freak-like conditioning. Pens will be pretty bad by 2026, so let it rip!

Interesting! I actually think your contracts are pretty solid. Kind of what I would expect Rust to go for, even though I kind of assume they will be losing him this summer. The good news is that ERod likely won't reach that high of a hit, at least not yet. He has been great and he looks like a high skilled forward, but I think they would give him a shorter-term "prove it" deal over 2 years before handing him Vrana/Farabee/Garland money. Ideally for me, would like like 2 years @ 3.3M AAV. Never the less, would be very happy with this team going into next year! Sid-Geno-Letang-MAF together again 15+ years since they came in is just unfathomable in the best way.

Chicago rejects, Ik Kubalik is having a down year but he's better than Kapanen and were certainly not trading an early 2nd for a late 2nd
