Chucks Aggressive Retool

Description
After watching Chuck's press conference today it is obvious Comcast won't let him rebuild. He said the Flyers would "aggressively retool" in the office season hence the name of my team. I kind of don't like the defense I made but the Flyers are so close to the cap that it's going to be hard to truly retool. Any suggestions or opinions would be great but please keep it chill as none of us are GM's and probably never will be.

Nobody gives Philly a 1st and unlikely even a 2nd at this point.

if you are getting your info from NHLRumorsDaily only, pretty confident that 2 guys that used to work for Barstool, not spitting chiclets, dont have the inside scoop on trade talks.

They are entertainment more than actual inside information

NJ says yes to JVR. JVR, Hughes and Bratt on a line? That could work.

Sanheim can definitely get a first.
I like the look of this team a lot, but Philly would be better off getting a RHD instead of Chychrun I think. It's inevitable Ellis is going to be injured, we'd be better off having a guy that can slot into that top pair no problem.

We're not spending a first for a bottom pairing dman. At least, that's what he'd be in Boston. Not a second rounder either.

Even if the rumours were true there is no way Newhook would be involved (Fletcher even asking for him would give Joe a bloody good giggle which is why we know there is little likelihood of this being genuine). Jost and a first would be closer to reality however.

Fellow Flyers fan with a few thoughts:

G to the Avs makes sense on paper, I personally would like a better return but in the scenario he comes back it makes sense. Doubt they'd even consider Newhook leaving unless they are planning to resign Giroux.

I can totally see them going for Gaudreau even though I personally think its a foolish move. I can't see Braun resigning here after what he's been asked to do and a taste of more playoffs wherever he goes. Rutta isn't a bad pickup.

Risto definitely goes for less than a 1st, I'd be happily excited for a 2nd. Braun more likely to get a 2nd I'd say, maybe a Toronto or even Colorado not that Nashville doesn't work, just see them as more likely to move picks. Sanheim gets more than a 1st, Edmonton is a decent fit I think. May need to take some money from them, maybe with sweeteners.

JVR trade works in theory, definitely not a TDL move though for sure in the offseason. I think Ottawa would be interested too.

Overall I think these are good ideas and you've put yourself in that mindset of Comcast's stranglehold well.
