Samsonov? I'd rather not to be honest. There are too many UFA goalies out there that we can find something just as good if not better, no?

It's a tough situation. In all reality, I'd like for the hawks to be aware of Commesso's development and not stunt/overseason him. I think I'd prefer a 1st rounder just because there's so many good prospects in this draft and getting a goalie like Samsonov likely overlaps with Commesso.

I agree about not rushing DC. Why not sign Lankinen and Korpi. They're friends. They should be willing to split the load. I'd also prefer picks over Samsonov.

I mean maybe? Like Chicago's in a weird spot right now. Between Edmonton and Colorado both having starting job postings, as well as Toronto likely resigning Campbell the market for Chicago is probably pretty thin. Samsonov is only 24 (25 at end of February) and there is no guarantee that Chicago gets Lankinen to resign either. At the very least having the certainty of 1 signed NHL goalie under contract should definitely be enticing.

Samsonov still has lots of potential too.

Korpi is just not good, it's a nice cheap option, but I'm not sure if they're trying to make the playoffs next season or not. If they aren't, he's an option. If they are, they might look for someone a bit better.

I’m not as high on Samsonov as a lot of other people are

He’s injured often, his stats don’t yell superstar or even very good

In the end Samsonov isn’t a very big factor in Washington’s success so imagine going to a team who’s defence is 6,000 times worse then Washington’s

Hawks do it if the pick is a 2nd. Kempney cap dump costs that 3rd and hawks decline samsanov for flower 1 for 1
