          Brassard isn’t worth a 3rd. 4th might work.

Maybe, its all likelihood a late 3rd rounder and not in ths yrs draft. Brassard had quite the career resurgence before his injury (11pts in 19 games). He can play LW or C and adds offense and vet leadership, if hes healthy I think he gets a late 3rd or mid 4th, but more than a late 4th.

No thanks. Would rather not give up a 1st + arguably our best defensive prospect for a guy who is going to leave at the end of the year, and would be a 2nd liner/possible 3rd liner when Mantha returns.

No thanks to Zucker, I think they'd rather have the cap space

I think they can flip Zucker at half retained for a decent amount of value

We dont have the cap space to do that. He's signed for wo more years and we need that extra space for Letang and Geno

He might get the 3rd but I’d sooner sign Staal who has been staying in shape, AHL conditioning and an Olympic run than give up the assets. However I’m sure there’s a team willing to pay the price

Yes we all know Eric Staal + Rangers = success! Kidding but as much as I love E. Staal, he hasn't played in the NHL as recently as Brassard

Flyers don't really either so I'd say they're not the best team to do this trade with, rivalry notwithstanding

I mean the roster, coach, system was all different 5 years ago when he was a NYR. The thing is, if NYR is looking to give up assets then they will be big game hunting and if not then they’re more likely to just sign Staal/Kane for an amount that no one else can match. Or I see them giving up assets for guys who aren’t rentals like lehkonen. Brassard is a decent target for other teams though

I mean, Staal was 5 years younger then too (though he had a year to forget). I love Eric Staal, I'm just saying that he is sadly the bottom of the barrel with rentals at the moment. Also, I hate to say this but every fan of every team thinks they will "not give up assets unless we get massively better" and we will see but usually this trend is broken once you start competing. Also, Lehkonen is a RFA just like a Crouse, yet people here are very anti-trading much for either since they are "rentals", so I'm just curious since you seem more receptive: what would you give up for Lehkonen?

Ken Holland moment, that's why. Also, Jones has honestly been serviceable and I think the Oilers would take that in a goalie rn

Here is Jones' and Koskinen's SV% in each of their last 10 starts:

          Goalie A:
          .879
          .500
          .900
          .936
          .848
          .944
          .903
          .906
          .860
          .833

          Goalie B:
          .926
          .936
          .786
          .857
          .897
          .800
          .903
          .846
          .875
          .941

I think its safe to say neither have been very servicable.

Lehkonen gets a 2nd as he isn’t a rental. The Staal thing isn’t a matter of him being better than brassard, the point is if that’s all we are willing to do for the playoffs which is next to nothing in all fairness then I see them keeping the pick a signing a guy of similar skill. I don’t want Brass for a 3rd to make a run, that’s barely an improvement to our roster(same with Staal) so it’s either go big or go home. Staal can still fall under the go home scenario as he is only costing money and cap space which there’s plenty of. But Lehkonen would then be resigned at a QO and be on the team for a few years making the 2nd worth it(or Kravs). Brass would be better serving to TOR/EDM/TB/MIN as it’s a mid pick and helps their bottom 6. Out bottom 6 is more of a lock then the top 6. We need a top 6 guy. Laf/Chytil/Goodrow/Blais/Hunt/Rooney/Reaves are the 7/6 guys. We need a proper player to play 2RW or 2C(legitimately) which is why I think they are going BIG as they also have 25M+ open at TDL.

Yeah I agree they need a 2RW for sure. Not sure Lehkonen signs for the QO but I get your point. No disrespect meant!

I think its safe to say neither have been very servicable.
          Hard Pass.

Look at their season sv% too. And you can't say its different because the Flyers are better or anything, or have a better defense...because we don't. Only Arizona has a worse differential.

Signing the QO to play beside Bread and boost the stats could look good for his next deal. Not saying he does but it’s not a bad look and gamble

Avs won't move Girard unless Byram is fully fit.
