with the high-risk of losing Klingberg this summer... adding Lehkonen who play better than Gurianov (I know Guri have a higher ceilling)
Petry around good vet @ 5M should bounce back... still skating very well, power shot... just have is head elsewhere

You’re 4 million over the cap, that’s the biggest issue.

Among others like Petry currently is a cap dump until he plays better, I wouldn’t trade Gurianov 1 for 1 for Lehkonen (we have way too much players like Lehkonen and not enough like Gurianov), we add to the trade that we’re already losing, and with this current lineup we maybe win 2 games in the first round.

Edit: actually the biggest issue here is putting Blake Comeau in the lineup and actually thinking that you’re going to make the playoffs. Plus you’re ruining Peterson’s development by putting him with two offensive black holes.

Comeau was just to filled a hole...
If you know how it works... 4M over the cap is not effective as many of them was on LITR with savings at the deal is at TDL with only 20% left to pay on acquired players

Due to how poorly he's playing, his age, and the fact that his contract still has 3 years left on it after this season, Petry has nearly no value in a trade. I avoid him pretty hard, if I'm Dallas.

I also wouldn't trade Gurianov outright for Lehkonen & a 3rd. Gurianov is currently the better player & also has the higher ceiling whenever Dallas gets rid of Bowness.

Value is pretty heavily skewed in Montreal's favor here. Maybe it tips back a little bit if Petry can find his game again, but that's an expensive risk that I'm not willing to take if I'm Dallas.

I really really feel like you misunderstood my comment that Im assuming you're paraphrasing here.

Right now, Petry is almost untradeable. If he plays good again, he'll get his value back but right now, almost zero value.

Petry in the last 4 season puts : 42,46,40 and 42 in 55. Thats 62 pts in a full season. Petry suck this year in a team who is deadlast in standing. But he still have value

For us it's true... no value...
but GM's are not that Black and White... they look at the total outcomes and Petry still has value... even now

Ok yes, GM's like Ken Holland and Chuck Fletcher only look at past history when making decisions...... That's not exactly the smart thing to do either.

Its not only this bad season that makes Petry untradeable, its his NTC/NMC, its his age, its his salary and signing bonuses, ect etc etc etc.

Petry does have some value, just no where close to what Habs would let him go for. The above is not even close to his CURRENT value. This is closer to his PREVIOUS value.
