Created by: GoHabsGo99
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2022
Published: Jan. 27, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Have to wonder if management brings the majority of the team back to "try again" after this complete disaster of a season...if the experiment fails again, players like Hoffman/Byron/Drouin/Allen can be moved easier as they have less term...Toffoli and Edmundson would still be 1.5 year rentals and hold very good value

Draft:
Pick 1-5: Wright/Cooley/Nemec/Savoie/Slafkovsky

Honestly, that's not a bad take. There's a lot of guys signed to long-ish term deals so what do they have to lose by burning another year off their contracts? Better than selling for pennies on the dollar.

yup...Drouin at 5.5M x 2 this season isn't that attractive but Drouin at 2.75M x 1 next season is, same goes for Byron

For a late 2nd and a B prosepct I'd rather just keep Lekhonen, he is still relatively young, cheap and has defensive upside. Lekhonen is probably better than whomever they would pick in the second round
