Montreal counters with Vejdemo and a 4th for Kampf. This is just ridiculous, Montreal doesn't want Doormat. We have no room for him.

Easy pass from Ottawa, nothing there entices them to give up Zub.

Seems like an overpay for Reimer, he's having a decent year but definitely starting to slow down.

I doubt Montreal would trade us Pezzetta, rarely do teams trade away his type of player to rivals, plus we don't have much use for him, rather just keep Dermott.

Dermott is a solid 5/6D of the future who can maybe grow to a #4. With Montreal going to be moving players out, he would be a great pickup. However, Leafs reject because again he’s actually solid and here they are getting a depth pick and a 13th forward for Dermott, which definitely is not ideal

There's no point in arguing with him, Dermott's ok but this guys always calling him doormat and seems to think he's one of the worst dman in the NHL.

Doormat isn't beating out Edmundson (once he returns), Romanov or Chiarot on our LD this year or Edmundson, Romanov, Guhle/Norlinder next year. On the Right he isn't beating out Petry, Savard or Wideman (they are on the same level) this year and next year he would potentially have to fight for the 3RD spot IF we don't get a better RD between now and then so while it might be a lateral move as far as value, Doormat isn't worth spending assets on just to sit in the press box.

The odds are multiple of those guys are moved out. Dermott would develop into a solid bottom pair guy, his ceiling isn’t high but he’s already a solid d man and still has a bit of more room to grow. The only way you wouldn’t be winning the Dermott trade is if Montreal Management and Coaching started giving him the Victor Mete treatment

I don't think he is terrible, he is as good as Kulak, which is just another depth D man Montreal doesn't need. As for the Doormat thing it's 2 fold, 1. It irks a Habs troll who comments on every Habs ACGM involving Chiarot. 2. Also the shoe fits since both Kulak and Dermott are ok offensive D men but both are just fairly bad defensively, but it is mostly for reason 1.

Somehow TO has the best GAA in the Atlantic but all their Defenceman wouldn't make the team with the worst GAA in the league

Weird how all those better defenceman have helped Montreal become the worst team in hockey.

Actually only 2 are likely to be moved out (Wideman and Chiarot) possibly 3 if Kulak is moved as well but we have others ready to step in (Guhle, Struble Harris if he signs, Clague and Niku) the reason we suck is the coaches system sucks. He is trying to implement a system that works in JR hockey against the best players in the world which is just stupid.

Reilly, Muzzin, Sandin, Liljgren, Brodie and Holl would all beat out most of our D just Dermot wouldn't. Like I said before he is a good depth option but we have like 7-10 other good depth options so he isn't needed.

Yeah Ducharme has been absolute bum, which makes it even more depressing that you guys managed to beat us in the first round last year. He was good coaching for the Mooseheads back a bit ago but it’s just a completely different league

Is Kulak a Offensive D? I don't watch him much but I always thought he was more of a defensive guy, his advanced analytics over the past couple years point to him being more defensively inclined. His xGA numbers are good this year, were last year too.

No they are not. I could understand how you might think the first 3 are overpays, but that Zub deal is horrific (ie remove Zub and it becomes fair) so in the end the team wuld be BETTER, but I agree most of these trades might be bad for the leafs.

Leafs fans are delusional about Travis Dermott. Take the name out of the equation and you quickly realize how bad it is.

25 years old still getting healthy scratched regularly. Thats not young guy learning the ropes thats fringe NHLer not good enough to play every night.

Averaging less than 15 mins when he does play. Has not hit 18 mins once this year.

On a 82 game pace for less than 12 points.

Isnt a primary or secondary PK option.

Making more than what is buryable

Perennial 1st round exit doesn't want players from the team that ruined their playoffs hopes. That math checks out.

The Zub trade is laughable. I don't see Zub getting traded at all and especially not happening for a cap dump, mediocre AHL player and a high 3rd.
