Getting Hagelin's contract off the books would be nice, but not at the price of getting Hoffman's back. His contract is too long and Caps need to leave some spots open for younger players. They have like 5 PP specialists already, just need to work it out.

I don't think Washington is the right place for Hoffman, but I congratulate you on not making an absolutely ridiculous Habs AGM.

The caps could use a boost to the powerplay with Oshie and Mantha out, but Hoffman just isn't feasible long term. With Samsonov, Vanecek, and Sprong expiring this year, and Orlov, Fehervary, Jensen, and other expiring next year, the cap hit he brings just isn't worth it for DC.

Edit: Didn't see the other replies when typing this, not trying to pile on.

Didn’t see the “not” and I was like “dang that’s pretty rude”

no issues moving weiss in a kulak deal, i would pause on Ambrosio, he is still somewhat intriguing of a prospect. If it came down to it, dont really care but would feel like "couldnt they have done that deal for cheaper" afterthought
