Leafs definitely won't need a goalie. If they do that they'll just move someone to free up the cap space for Campbell.

Vancouver deal is fine for value, but doesn't suit the team. If they move Horvat it's likely not for pieces that will jump into the roster right away, probably looking at younger, more cost controlled pieces.

IDK if that’s enough and I think it makes the team weaker overall. Not to mention it sounds like Horvat wants to reup in VAN.

Love the idea of Horvat, I just don’t want to give up what it would take.

I'm a bit surprised at the Horvat trade.....He's a UFA in a year. Like the thought on the Talbot trade....if the Leafs can trade Mrzarek, and I believe Campbell leaves as a UFA

Horvat would have to come with an extension.

Toronto was “any team” and not a specific target.

My thought process is that this team is built on defense and you need to lean in on that strength to succeed. I really think Dumba is more important than a “top end” C. A 2C that buys into the system is really what’s needed.

I get everybody wants to do what they can to keep Fiala right now but there is no chance he signs for less than 7 with term. And the fact is, scoring wings can be found in FA for much less than that. You cannot, however, do that with RHD. Especially top 4 RHD.

VAN is not moving Horvat, unless he wants out. "The sense is Bo Horvat wants to stay and the contract may not be as big as some people think if they go long-term".

You and I are both on the same page with Dumba…I want him to stay! I don’t think many people, Wild fans included, appreciate his value enough! However, sometimes I get a gut feeling that BG is doing and saying everything he can to inflate his trade value…
I still believe the smart (long-term) move is to trade Zuccarello! His contract is no longer a hindrance to trading him and because of his age…he’s my #1 choice to move. Players like Dumba and Fiala are very rare, IMO as players who truly have the tools to dominate in the playoffs! Also IMO, players like Zuccarello and Spurgeon do not! I consider them regular season darlings…

It’s all about the trade off. If the trade off is Dumba or Fiala, you pick Dumba. If it’s Dumba/Fiala or Zucc, you pick Dumba/Fiala. The real question is whether you can make that the trade off.

P.S. I don’t consider Horvat a true #1 center. He can s a #2…but I really like the idea of having Horvat/Ek/Rossi/Sturm manning the Wild’s middle for the foreseeable future! 4 talented, hard-working, 200 foot centers with skill would be more than enough to make up for a downgrade (Dumba to Addison) at RHD.

Trading Zucc is my strategy for keeping Fiala and Dumba…and I think it can be done.

I’m less optimistic for this path, but it’s definitely the best option. If you can pull those strings, then go for it.
