Packages Id accept at trade deadline

Created by: Mediumyeet
Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 28, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Canucks should be looking for a package that they just can't refuse to trade Miller at the deadline. If they don't get a package like that then they will likely hold onto him and let the season play out and hopefully continue their playoff push then re-evaluate in the offseason.

I know these packages are steep but Canucks don't need to move Miller right now especially when they are in the playoff hunt.
Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Jost, Tyson
  2. Murray, Ryan
  3. Newhook, Alex
  4. 2023 1st round pick (COL)

Miller can also replace Kadri next season assuming Kadri is looking for a big contract.
COL
  1. Miller, J.T.
  2. 2023 5th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Canucks could add any depth dman not named Schenn or Rathbone. I don't imagine Colorado would be interested in any of them though as they probably have better in their system.

Newhook is a deal breaker for Colorado. I read the description though, so I assume you already more or less know that.

Ya exactly. I totally understand that all the other fanbases are going to hate these packages and I don't blame them.

I just don't see the need to move Miller right now especially while the Canucks are in the hunt. They can wait for the offseason when they can have proper contract talks with JT and see if he's willing to re-sign even.

So having said that any offer they accept at the deadline would have to be one that they absolutely can't refuse.

I'm aware. I think they should only move him if they get a crazy overpayment. I'd they decide to move him in the offseason they will still be able to get a good return but it gives them the chance to

    1. Potentially make the playoffs this year
    2. Have proper contract negotiations with Miller in the summer if they're considering keeping him
    3. Open up different trade options that include roster players rather than just futures

Try again for the wild. The wild would be interested in Miller for a deal but if we are going to take him on, Cap needs to go back the other way. That's why Fiala was linked to trades so much recently. I also remember when the Wild were in the Eichel talks that Rossi was an untouchable prospect and I still think we have the same view on him now.

That's kind of my point though. Unless they're getting a deal they can't refuse then there's not much point in moving him now. Minnesota won't want to move Fiala at the deadline. So a deal involving him would be easier to workout in the offseason.

I bet you would accept that, but in the real world the Avs wouldn’t trade Newhook straight up for Miller much less add 2 roster players and a first. If you’re going to make completely ridiculous trade offers put your spiel in the description and turn off comments, because this is not good.

MIN definitely declines. As somebody already said, that is a crazy overpay. There is no chance you are getting Rossi.

And what comes to Miller's value... It only goes down from here. In the summer, he will only be a UFA and by the deadline 2023 he will be a pure rental. You really should trade him while his value is high...

I edited my comment to bring up my point more. You shouldn't hold on to Miller.
