Unicorns Do Exist Cuz We Found A Trade That Seems Most Agree Is OK

Description
Talking about the Winnipeg trade. Maybe Avs can talk them into retaining a little salary too, but it works either way.

Hagg is a depth move. He may not play over Murray or JJ. I'm holding out hope Byram comes back at some point, so I put him in the lineup.

The jets don't need JT Compher or Kaut. They could use a 1st

That’s probably more realistic than most Copp trades

I like the Copp trade for the Avs

Hagg is not an NHL caliber D man. Hes pretty much MacDermid 2.0

Hagg is just cheap depth in case the team gets in a pickle with injuries. I wanted to do a lower pick and probably should have. Ideally he's on nacho duty. There are better options, but how big do you want to go for a guy you hope doesn't play?

He has actually been kinda okay at forward when they've used him there. It's the ideal spot if they want him in the lineup for non-hockey type reasons.

Agreed. I am thinking the Jets could retain to balance the Copp-Compher salaries and maybe more depending what happens with other UFA trades (i.e.: if Stastny, Beaulieu are traded for picks/prospects and not roster players).

I think a 3rd can get a lot more than Hagg - even a 4th-5th could get someone better. Id take anyone instead of Hagg tbh, Id rather use Barron or MacDonald over him too

With the uncertainty with Byram moving forward Id be ok with going after a pretty high quality D man rental. Being 1 injury away from having Hagg/MacDermid/JJ in the top 4 is scary. I think Giordano would be a good fit actually. If they want someone a bit cheaper then Lyubushkin would also be a good target

I'm gonna hope Byram comes back until we hear otherwise. What I like about Hagg is he plays a role. Tough shifts and pk. I should probably drop the price to a 5th though. Wanted to do a 4th, but there are none.

Lyubushkin would be fine too. I must say I don't always trust those jfresh charts. This dude had 4 assists in 51 games a couple years back and jfresh charts had his offense ranked pretty high.

Gio I'd love but the likely price I don't.

I would give up a 3rd for Lyubushkin, if you are going to give up that level of pick lets get a guy who adds an element the avs need while staying to their identity.
FYI im a big Lyubushkin stan at the TDL, I think what team trades for him are going to look like geniuses with him on a contender

Changed it based on feedback. Hagg for a 5th might be a fallback.
