That Copp return is in the ballpark of what a top rental like Hertl should fetch. No one's paying that much for 3rd line production.

I feel like a 58 point pace isn't really "3rd line production." I think Copp will fetch a LATE 1st from a contending team that's expected to go deep (COL as example) but more realistically a 2nd and decent prospect.

I get that he's on a career best pace this season, but it's not like he's destroying his personal records or anything. We're still talking about a guy who's never been able to hit 20 goals in a season, and he doesn't exactly turn it on come playoff time either.

I think a 2nd and a B prospect would be a solid return, but WPG would likely have to retain some salary in the deal.

Winnipeg would for sure retain salary if they were to get a 1st
