I think you see Kylington get a 1 year deal until Lucic, Monahan, Valimaki are all expiring deals and you have more flexibility. 3 years puts him in UFA way quicker than I imagine the Flames would want.

Mangiapane is getting a fat raise after this year, not sure the sharks will be able to afford him honestly. Add Backlund to the mix with his contract and there’s absolutely no way.

I don’t think CGY would do Hanifin + Zary for Chychrun, let alone adding Coronato, another 1st, and a 2nd. Crouse is nowhere near that value.

And that Hertl deal is way too high for CGY to pay as well. CGY would rather have Mangiapane plus the 1st rounder instead of Hertl.

Part of my thinking is that we would have to outbid other teams. Chychrun and Hertl might be two of the most coveted guys at the TDL, and you’ll have to pony up to get them.
