Montreal is at the damn bottom of the standing. They aren’t trading one of their good prospect for a players who as been declining for the past 3 season. Is Calgary need to shed cap space they won’t get much for Monahan. Montreal could trade for him to relief Calgary of some money but not a that price this is a sure thing.

add a 1st and a prospect and we'll take him. i dont know what happened to him, but he's a 3rd liner at this point. his base salary is 6mill for ths year and next. you better pay up bud. idk if you heard but theres a pandemic going around and teams dont have a lot of money

Monahan has little value to Montreal. Maybe someone would take a flyer on him and hope for a Bennett effect, but you probably aren't looking at much return given his cap hit and he's not going to perform any better in Montreal.
The only way Monahan might make sense, is if Drouin is going the other way. Similar age players with similar issues of underperforming and missing time, similar contract and term. Typical change-of-scenery type move.

Drouin isn’t’ underperforming, that a misconception made by fan who wanted him to be a ppg players. Drouin is producing a the same pace that he always had. Fan just need to moderate their standard when it come to Drouin. He is not McDavid but he is still a good top 6 winger who produce is
50+ points a year.

Fair, perhaps I should have specified below expectations. When you are brought in as a young player, there is a reasonable expectation of improvement over time. Drouin is pretty much the same player he was when we acquired him, so it's fair to say he's underperformed.

He underperform only because you have put high expectations on him. Now that he is 26 it might be the time to just stop with that non sense that he must produced a certain amount of point since he was a 3 overall pick. The biggest concern to me is that he can’t stay healthy. Not that he ain’t producing at what people would expect. People are moron, they thibk that a players that is drafted in the first round are supposed to all be superstar. Players get drafted for their quality and intangible and their rank have nothing to do with what they suppose to become.
And it would be fair to say that Drouin haven’t become what we expected him to be when we acquired him. Not that he underperform. To underperform you had to perform at that certain level first.
