To ARZ: Kailer Yamamoto, Carey Price (50% retained by MTL - $5,250,000)
To EDM: Carey Price (50% retained by MTL, 50% retained by ARZ - $2,625,000)
To MTL: Dylan Holloway, Mike Smith, 2022 1st round pick, 2022 2nd round pick
yes im somewhat serious about sending Price 75% retained to edmonton, a goalie like that at 2.625M is a steal
however im not too sure about the return

To TOR: Josh Anderson, Jake Allen (50% retained - $1,437,500), Kale Clague
To MTL: Justin Holl, Petr Mrazek, Nick Ritchie, Nicholas Robertson, 2023 3rd round pick
Anderson = Robertson + Ritchie + 3rd (ritchie dump = 3rd, robertson = anderson)
Holl = Clague (holl is older, better, more expensive. clague is younger, worse, less expensive)
Mrazek = Allen (this adds up somehow, but it needs some work)
Ok first thing I have to say is that during his press conference last night Price all but flat out said he was not waiving his NMC. when asked about wanting to stay in Montreal through a rebuild, he said he and his family have built a life in Montreal and he signed a NMC for a reason.
his salary is too important or something idk what the excuse is

the leafs dont want Anderson and his contract. He doesnt even play a position the leafs need to upgrade in the slightest
leafs dont need to upgrade either wing? plus did you see my thoughts about the trade

i know, just got bored and made this for fun. 100% get what you're saying though

That's right, Josh anderson wouldn't be an upgrade over any of the leafs top 6 wingers right now.
So your trade gets them an expensive guy they dont need, a worse defence and worse goaltending

the top six wingers are...
bunting nylander marner kerfoot? (correct me if im wrong)
kerfoot's doing really good this season somehow, i believe its a safe bet that he falls back next year
i believe that anderson could definitely be better than kerfoot if put with the right people. plus if you have, say, bunting and anderson with tavares, then you can have a nuclear line of nylander matthews marner
So what if you've arranged Price's cap hit of 2.6 to the Oilers.......He isn't playing, and the Oilers need a goalie.
Technically any follower on CapFriendly would sign with the Oilers for 750,000 and stop more pucks than Price this season (even if it's only one)
teams have called about mrazek which is gonna make everyone on this site trading him as a cap dump cry
anderson is a middle 6 forward and overpaid to be a middle 6 forward
leafs say no
Absolutely, he'd be a decent addition if he didn't make so much money, just not a contract the leafs can acquire, nor is it an area of need. But I don't know what he's done in his career to consider him a top 6 forward as suggested above. He's had one year where he had or was on pace for over 40 points.
The Oilers are never going to trade for Holloway and Yamo for Price. Period.

but what if he comes back and plays like he did in the playoffs? then id say its worth it

Mikheyev is a better option right now, much cheaper, better defensively, scoring at a better pace
