Description

Not sure about how valuable Trouba is to New york but his contract seems terrible and would work in a salary dump trade. Lafrenière hasn't found his game "yet", a change of scenery might be the best move for his career and in MTL he'll have the opportunity to play in all types of situations (unless Dom hates him like he hates all the other young players).

Lehky seems like a perfect fit for the rangers and a fully confident Petry would be a great fit behind Adam Fox.

Interested to hear everybody's thoughts on if this trade is realistic

It is not. Trouba doesn't want to play in Canada and is playing better than Petry right now. They're certainly not including Lafrenière in that.

Trouba is having a really good year and Petry is having a really bad year, I think you're off on this one, maybe would have had a case a year ago.

No way the Rangers accept that. Trouba has been far better than Petry this year and they’re not giving up on Lafrenière this quickly, not to mention that the value is far from fair for the Rangers.

Rangers aren't giving up Laf for that, and Trouba > Petry, even if they wanted to move Trouba, they couldn't, due to his NMC.

Rangers decline. Trouba isn't waiving his NTC clause for Canada and he is having his best year so far in NY.

Rangers wouldn't trade Trouba alone for that package, let alone add an A prospect, let alone add Alexi LaFreniere.

Was not aware that Trouba refused to play in Canada. Only reason I thought it would be somewhat realistic is because of that mammoth contract and the fact that Laffy is going to be an RFA in 23-24 and they have almost no cap space because of the Fox contract and Strome becoming a UFA.

wasn't going for "delusional" was just proposing a situation where 2 players would benefit from a change of scenery ( Perty & Laffy)
