Heh. There's not one reason that PITT does that.

Take back a contract and it could work.

Yeah Pittsburgh is already one of the higher scoring teams in the league. LA or Columbus would make more sense.

1- And they don't have the cap for that terrible contract.

2- Not really. The Kings have loads of young players to season and the Jackets aren't contending any time soon. The Habs are probably stuck with that bad decision/contract.
Hamcity liked this.

Why do you have this mindset? Hoffman is one of the best goal scorers in the league at 4.5 mill (which the og poster has him retained down to 3.9) how is that a bad contract?.. You sound like a 16 year old from Twitter almost every time you comment. Nobody is saying he’s a star, and I don’t even agree with the og post as far as his value goes, but you have to come in here with your hot take “nobody will ever trade for him and that horrible contract”. That’s simply false. He is not good defensively, he has his issues, but give me a guess on where you think he ranks league wide goal scoring over the last 5 seasons? I already know the answer but I want to hear it from you. That contract is peanuts when you’re getting a proven 30 goal scorer. Any team that is looking for a weapon on their power play will be interested. Habs are rebuilding and can take a contract back as well as retain if they have to.

Hahahaha WHAT??? Hoffman is a one-trick pony: he's good on the PP. And even that trick is fading fast. He's a disaster from a team play perspective, makes terrible decisions with the puck that constantly put his team in Dutch and is currently 175th in the league in goals per game (one of the best goal scorers, he says... ). I just watched this schlub all of last season, every single game, every single shift. He'll be 35 when this deal ends, so it ain't gonna get any better. And even if you think it's a reasonable salary, the Pens do not have room for it. Not now, not next season, not ever.

On top of all that, how's about you lay off the whiny, tired personal attacks (at least come up with something interesting FFS) and just discuss my ideas? Free tip: Casting about like this just makes it look like you feel threatened and oh so damaged because my ideas are much better than yours.

Oh... and you JUST agreed with one of my comments. Learn what "every" means, would ya?

I would discuss your ideas but they’re always the same “durr nobody will trade for player x durr” it never changes. You have the mindset of a child and considering you live on this app, I would assume (or at least hope) you are a child. 10 posts a day my god..

Hoffman is a one trick pony, that’s why 3.9 mill after retention is palatable. Most players who score at his rate are making 8 mill, granted they are a better all around players (hence why he doesn’t make as much as them). That one trick happens to be the most important trick in hockey, putting the puck in the net.

1- WRONG. Again, you JUST AGREED WITH ONE OF MY COMMENTS, DUDE. It's like you don't understand the meaning of words.

2- Heh. Sorry, what did you say? I could not hear you over the incessant crying. And gosh, sue me for being well off enough to have loads of free time to spend on my favorite sport. Do you ever have an original thought?

3- You are living in the distant past, bro. Welcome back from your extended coma.

I must’ve really struck a nerve, you hit me with the 1, 2, 3. Is that how mommy does it? Btw these are called chirps, have you never played hockey? The fact that they offend you worries me.

“The past” try 10 months ago. GM’s don’t think the way you do. Hell St. Louis offered him 4.25 mill with the same term just last off-season… 25 games isn’t enough to erase a players whole career. It’s naive to think that way.

I guess we’re going to agree to disagree on this one bud.
