Rust Trade Ideas

Description
With the Jeff Carter signing, it is hard for me to see a way the Pens fit Bryan Rust into their current window. Obviously would help if they could unload a Zucker, Matheson or Pettersson, but I don't believe that is likely unless GMJR comes calling.

With that said, you either keep Rust as your 'Deadline Acquisition', or you can try trading him somewhere and getting a body back with term. These are a few that I think could be useful, or at the very least would be interesting discussions. Personally, I am okay with letting him ride it out and cashing his big ticket this summer. GMRH does strike me as someone who would want to make the most out of an expiring asset, so a few ideas that I think could work below. Looking forward to the enthusiasm, boys!

We'll take Rust. Need a Right handed shot in our top six.
How about Alex Barabanov and a 3rd.

Not sure why I glanced over San Jose, I am sure that there can be something that works for both!

If these are the returns for rust, would be better off just keeping him. These returns are pretty terrible for how well Rust is playing.

who is GMJR?

What benefit is this for Vancouver? soon to be FA 30 year old rust? 26 year old cant stick in the lineup?
for a 25 year old cost controlled 5v5 metric darling, and giving up the better pick...

come on, be better then this.

No reason for the Canucks to trade Garland for a pending UFA who would likely leave in FA

Lol... Allvin & Rutherford either hit a homerun or go down swinging, just wait and see - it's truly unpredictable

I totally agree, I can't really think of many cases where the Pens trade him and get better, but this is just a different perspective of keeping him and losing for nothing vs. trying to asset management-savvy

sure, but I can guarantee you they wont be trading for a 30 year old expiring deal.

Definitely not unless they were sure that they would resign him - and I think most people would pick the younger player, but when Rutherford gets fixated on a player all logic gets thrown out. Again, Allvin + GMJR might not even be interested.

Yes he’s historically been more of a defensive minded forward. Typically been our best pk forward and one of our best defensive forwards for several years.

Rust has 32 points in 24 games and the Penguins are in a playoff position. Why on earth would you trade him rather than keep him as an own rental? The only way you move him is if someone offers the moon. May as well go for it again with Crosby and co.

Thanks for the amazing tutorial. I wish I found this tutorial all those years ago when I just started playing Rust. I literally went into this game blinded, lol. I only found out about the totalrust website, which is basically an online encyclopedia about Rust, a few months ago. And thank god that I found it because I've been seriously struggling with some of the missions. Just went I was considering quitting the game, I found this website and It contains all the information that I needed to finish off that one mission. Guess I was extremely lucky, lol
