You absolutely are not getting that kind of return for a rental of Giroux, especially if he says he'll only go to Colorado.

Doubt the Avs move Newhook. Replace the 2nd with a first and replace Newhook, with someone like Foudy or Barron or Olausson and that should get it done

thats ACTUALLY intriguing imo for the AVs. Newhook has really solid numbers (Great player) but a move like this is almost necessary to compete with Vegas. Eichel Stephenson and Karlsson down the middle is going to be really hard to beat

Explain why? 35p in 42gp 15 goals... easily a top line player. i imagine that would cost you a 1st + really solid prospect. if the pick is a 2nd it would absolutely need to be a higher quality prospect. im confused as to what you think a player like Giroux would cost? lol

If you can come up with one good.... no! ... one bad reason the Blues would actually do that, I will buy you a fat ol' burger, onion rings and a frosty beer.

Of course, you will be paying for your own meal because there isn't even a terrible reason for them to consider such a thing. No cap. No need. No fit for Blues hockey. No defensive skill to speak of in Risto. And Kostin has actual value and an actual function for the team.

Avs dont have a 1st this year... also the skill level between Newhook vs oudy or Barron or Olausson is pretty large. Maybe do 1st in 2023 2nd in 2022 and one of those guys

i honestly tried and failed .... i even tried to find some sort of believable false narritive on Kostin ... didnt even have to be hockey related...

Risto is right handed not someone we need plus he's a dumpster fire worse than the Houston Texans trying to play defense.

I don't disagree with the cost, but there's a difference between a roster player (Newhook) and a prospect (Barron/Helleson/Olausson/Behrens). Newhook isn't on the table. It'll have to be a '23 1st + Compher/Jost (for cap considerations) + the prospect for it to work, otherwise the Avs walk. Given that the Avs are 2nd in the league in goals scored, Giroux would be a luxury, not a need.

LOL what? He has complete control over where he goes; the Flyers have no leverage to extract much, especially if he says he'll only go one place. Why is that hard to understand? It's true he's still a good player but he's 34 y/o on an expiring deal and the market will be flooded with forwards. Now, if he gives a list of, say, five teams he'll go to, there might be a bit of a bidding war but, unless a team has a surplus of high-end prospects, they're not giving up someone of the caliber of Alex Newhook for a rental.

"Why is that hard to understand?" he want to win a cup and their are a few contenders.... plus lets say the goal is to sign back with the Flyers after this year... WTF wouldnt he want them to get the MAX return?

Lol! Not a hope in hell they get that for a 34 yr old rental, even if it is Giroux. Especially not on a team that he's a luxury.
