I don’t know much about Chytil. I do know he hasn’t panned out to his draft position and expectation. 3rd line? 4th? Still could break out?

If wanting to get out of paying 2nd for CDH, up the prospect a little more.

I can't see Winnipeg having any interest in Chytil. He doesn't look like much and isn't anything Winnipeg needs.

I think there still potential for him to break out into a middle 6 role as a winger. Hes got wheels for days, might just need a change of scenery and mentality to hook into what hes got there. Still loads of Rangers fans that dont want to let him go. I personally see a 4-5 year window for the squad as is and Copp would fit in to that window like a glove as a 3C that I believe we can trade for and resign.

Yea its a tough one, our prospects are either low-B/C tier or A tier, nothing really in the middle.

Ive said before, I would, with extreme reluctance consider trading Nils for Copp. I just think if trading Nils there could be a bigger fish to be had. However what makes me keep the chase on Copp is that I believe we can resign him. Its a tough call.

Yeah I agree, I just feel we are going to want a 2nd that another team may offer due to our precarious situation and weak pool of prospects.

Probably would be zero issues discussing a sign and trade prior to a deal being finalized. Copp’s BFF is Trouba and would probably love to play in NY. I’m not a huge fan of Nils game style as we already have smaller puck moving DMen. I know Schneider is off the table so Nils isn’t too bad of a consolation prize.

Is that a fact? I had no idea. Thats kinda nice lol. We sure could use him to solidify our 3rd line.

Yeah, I can see that. From Winnipeg's point of view one of the reasons for moving on from Copp is to get cap space, so taking back unneeded long term cap doesn't help too much.

The Jets would probably want picks and entry level contracts if anything.

Nils has already shown positive results in the nhl and I believe is more talented than Schneider. I would rather us just commit to full on speed and skill on the backend than being stuck in the middle because we need a “physical presence”. Look at the avs, perhaps the best dcore in the league they have makar, Byram, girard, Toews who non of them would be considered big defenceman but they all can skate and play relatively well at both ends of the ice. Most of that also has to do with the fact that the avs coaching staff and systems are at least 5x superior to the jets.
