Giroux and Pavelski will have almost identical TDL value. That Pavs trade is definitely not enough

No one is paying a premium for a 37 year old rental forward. I don’t care how good of a year he’s having, it just won’t happen.

Agreed, and to be fair, I don't think either would be a particularly intelligent idea for the Ducks right now. They'd absolutely raise the ceiling, but going after a couple of rentals, when you're currently in a playoff position by 3 points, with the team who is chasing you having 6 games in hand, would be a bad, bad, bad move for a rebuilding club.

As a Ducks fan, I love the idea of us being competitive, but realistically, even getting to the playoffs are a bit of a stretch. Need to keep building the farm, and set the team up for next year. Lots of cap space going into the offseason, and IMO, that's the time to strike on higher end players.

It's been fun, and if Dallas actually wanted to do that deal (they don't), I'd do it, but shaving off the top of the farm at this point isn't a good idea.

JP has a 3 team trade list. Three teams get to bid on him. That's it.

Why does his age matter if he is a rental?

And Giroux has a full NTC, whats your point.

If they want a cup and neither of their teams are in it they will waive to a contender for a couple mpnths

I don’t see Anaheim making either of these trades honestly

Verbeek said we’re mid rebuild so would make 0 sense

JP & CG have similar ability but not similar trade value.

Tons of teams will pay a premium for a 37 year old rental forward playing as well as Pavs.

I’d want the second and Steel just to take Silfverberg off your hands. 5.25 million for a guy that will struggle to hit 30 points isn’t cap well spent

And nobody is taking Silfverberg’s cap off your hands for nothing. Pavs isn’t likely getting traded anyways. Nill said he isn’t selling two points out of a playoff spot

It's pretty simple supply and demand. If both are traded, I'll look back on this thread to see how this ages
