But what do the get for taking Lucic’s contract? I think Toffoli with his contract gets a 1st and second wherever he goes.

To rid yourselves of Lucic's contract will cost you a 1st. So that leaves Toffoli for a 2nd?

Maybe add another 1st.

What you really think Montreal will just gave you away Toffoli and taking on a terrible contract for a miserable late first round in a very poor draft year? This offer is ridiculous.

The first one doesn't really make much sense. I guess if Calgary wants to clear the salary, the return will be soft, but the Coyotes aren't a team to pay for a veteran with term based on how the rebuild has been going, even if its a good deal for them.

The second one is just bad for Montreal. They'd be asking for at least a 1st and 2nd for Toffoli, if they're taking on Lucic then the add would need to be significant.

2022 draft are not deep at all. There not much high end talent true out the draft at all.

Dude it's not because the draft don't have a Mcdavid or a Crosby that's a bad draft. Look the 2017 draft......
And If the 2022 have a quality right now, is that is pretty deep.

This draft class is far from 2017. It’s look a lot more to me like the 2012 draft class. I think that there a couple of very very solid defenseman in this year draft class but there won’t be much high end Forward. I have been watching most of these guy’s for the past couple year and there not much of them
That made me say wow i would absolutely want to draft that guy’s. And dude it’s not because you have a McDavid or a Matthews that it’s a deep draft year either (2005 Crosby draft). A deep draft mean a lot of good players beyond the first round. This years isn’t one of them.

Pretty sure you are the only one who thinks that trade is fair.

If its a poor draft class then Montreal should be asking for even more!

Lmao I think you need to actually learn some hockey knowledge
Sure the trade isn’t the best but MY POINT is that lucic wouldn’t cost a first to dump

This.

Toffoli isn't going to be moved for late 1st/2nd picks. A good prospect needs to be in the package.
A contract can come back to lessen the cap burden, but if you're actually increasing the cap burden to Montreal, it's going to take more than a "good" prospect.

For the record, I don't want Pelletier, but that's the guy Flames fans say is untouchable. Not if Lucic is coming back.

Pelletier, 2nd, Lucic
Or
Zary, 1st, Lucic

Montreal then retains 50% on Lucic and sends him elsewhere for whatever (in lieu of taking back a $2-3M contract).

That’s fair I’m about a second off in this trade tho the first could be exchanged for Zary
