New York isn't close to contending in reality. They need to continue to work with Lafreniere to ensure that he can stay in the top 6. That should be their priority.

Blais - Goodrow - Namestnikov would be a very solid 3rd line, but I also feel that it is time to lift Barron up to the NHL, so I would not trade for Namestinikov, and my 3rd line for next year would be:

Barron/Goodrow - Goodrow/Barron - Blais

Detroit declines.

The only players Detroit would be interested in is Reunanen and Kravtsov. Yzerman might offer you Namestnikov for the pair of them but only if he has guarantees that Kravtsov will come over and play.
