Probably, this thread goes so much slower than our normal one though I’d say 2 is pain for Shane, 3 is 2022 draft extravaganza, 4 is tanking hard for Bedard

Had no idea who he was

Went and read some reports and watched some highlights

Potential 2nd round steal for the 2022 draft. Or candidate to go higher than expected.

Can see the fit and Dubas drafting 2 giants year after year would be funny

I like this kid - July Birthday, producing at a solid rate, does he have a chance to go top 10?

I'm not sure about top 10 because this draft has a lot of high end talent (like Wright/Cooley/Savoie/Kemell/Slafkovsky/Nemec/Jiricek are top 10 locks imo, and then you have Miroshnichenko who a lot of people love, Yurov who is super solid, Lambert who shouldn't slip much past 10 if at all, Geekie who is a 6'4" centre, and a bunch of fringe top 10 maybes with him in the thick of it with the likes of McGroarty, Howard, Nazar, Gaucher, etc.), but I have him in my top 15, and can't see a world where he slips past 20. I love Lekkerimaki, I think he'll wind up being a steal (and continue the trend of small, right shot, high-end snipers going in the teens started by Caufield and then Coronato).

I wouldn't be surprised If Lekkerimaki ends up having a better career than Kemell - he seems like a better 5v5 player and he's also a threat on the PP. I would take him at 10 or 11 if the isles pick there.

Top 10 a bit too high but he's going around 15 imo

Imo, Wright, Savoie, Cooley, Yurov, Nemec, Jiricek, Kemell, Lambert are locks for top 10 with Geekie, Slafkovsky, Mateychuk, Nazar, McGroarty and Miro having a shot. That's currently of course and could change but not too much

If only we had someone like Kent Johnson when Rick Nash was around. That way, Rick doesn't ask for a trade out of Columbus. I love his playmaking.

Have a hard time believing hes hurt again.

Coach just using that card so he doesnt get the Leafs fanbase after him lul. As through watching recent practice footage and games 0 signs of injury.

But if thats the case man that sucks.

Hopefully this team gets swept so Dubas can get him to the Marlies ASAP as the KHL has shown its hand and its time for proper development. No more KHL

Made me yell out loud during class with the sick behind the back pass that was choppy but still cool.

Slafkovsky has all of Slovakia's goals at the Olympics, haven't watched him perform but his Olympic performance could help him reduce some of my concerns

Ethan Cardwell - 2021 4th round pick
Putting some solid numbers with 12G/23A in 31 games (35 points). Really liked the pick at the time and now he’s producing at a great click. He still needs time to develop but seeing him in the Pros could come sooner rather than later for the Sharks/ Cuda.

Brandon Coe - 2020 4th round pick
Give Doug Wilson Jr more 4th round picks! They have been interesting and going very well lately for him. Coe being older than most guys shows - and he’s also seen AHL time too. And his transition to the NHL is more likely a matter of time than a question. Coe has 23 goals, 44 assists for 71 points in just 43 games. Coe is a big piece the Sharks could add to their 3rd line.

Daniil Gushchin - 2020 3rd round selection
A prospect on a lot of peoples watch lists (non Sharks fans included). Gushchin has performed across multiple leagues and after earning selection in the NHL draft he crushed his former league (USHL) with 64 points in 46 games he’s now playing in the OHL with 26 goals, and 16 assists in 30 games. When Gushchin moves over to the AHL - he will have high expectations. He’s a dazzling player to watch.

Gannon Laroque - 2021 4th round pick
Wilson Jr stop, the rest of the league has had enough. Laroque at the time was even a off the board selection - I even questioned it cause I didn’t know the guy. He had 1 goal and 6 assists in over 20 games playing in the WHL during his draft year. The Sharks team had a lot of praise for Gannon. And wow is he performing. The defender now has 6 goals and 33 assists in 42 games.

These guys mixed in with Eklund, Bordeleau, Robins, Merkley, Gaudreau, Hatakka, Kniazev bodes well for the Sharks as we could see a very young team next year - with the Sharks already icing one of the younger rosters this year.
We’re expecting at least 2-3 of these guys being high impact players and we could see at bright spot of potentially 5+ of all the names above overall having actual NHL careers.

Wyatt Johnston: 73 points in 39 games, 3rd in league point per game for the OHL.

Logan Stankoven: 60 points in 35 games, 2nd in league point per game for the WHL.

Mavrick Bourque: 26 points in 13 games, 2nd in league point per game for the QMJHL.

Excited to see what those 3 have in store for the futures of the Stars.

Still can't believe he fell so far. So many teams are going to regret that.

Raty was not in an ideal situation with Karpat, he was buried in a 4th line role with grinders who couldn’t capitalize on the chances he created. He didn’t get much PP time - Yeah if you looked at his stat line it wasn’t good, but he wasn’t put in a position to succeed, Raty even said in an interview after he got loaned to Jukurit that he played a simple game because he didn’t want the coach to scratch him. Olli Jokinen has let Raty be himself and now he has 26 points in 27 games.

I can already see some similarities with the KHL, it's hard to gauge someone's value when they aren't playing much/in a role that fits their style, i think i had Raty around 30 and we'll see how he does when he comes over to NA

I agree , some of these kids are playing a conservative style so they don’t get scratched. Then people say their offensive game has regressed.
