Surprised BOS giving him up. Was a nice unsigned pickup.

Don’t believe this is a loan

I mean Lyle's 22 and doesn't look like he's done well and will become something, doesn't look bad for them

Just surprised BOS is trading after just signing him to an ELC. And it’s not like they were close to their SPC (45 of 50) if they are planning on signing some FA college players.

I like the player, see some upside there

I think I have to agree. 5 weeks away from being in the 2022 NHL draft. Leading the Q in scoring, 1st overall pick in the QMJHL draft. Seems like a future star to me

He'd definitely be up there but I don't think he'd go top 15, probably a 1st though, we'll see, kinda depends where some notable overagers go this year

Dubas probs got a recommendation from Abruzzese

Players can be good for that

Case in point Dubas probs went to Brodie for Gio and Kerfoot for Blackwell

Now we just need to wait for Myers (Knies connection) and hopefully Livingstone.

A bit of self-promotion here, but maybe some of ya'll want to take a look at my Ducks prospect pyramid to see an opinion on the Ducks' prospects since I don't really post a lot of stuff on specific Ducks prospects here.

@oilersguy did the same for the Oilers

He has one year remaining on his Liiga contract, so he could return to Finland on loan or play for the Marlies next season.

He hasn’t had the greatest progression you’d like to see, hopefully the move to NA will be good for him

Hes been great defensively, but no progress offensively but thats fine. As if he is paired with Niemela you got a Brodin-Dumba like combo

So then why did they not sign McBain if they are just gonna go get this guy. Makes 0 sense.

I thought McBain didn't want to sign with Minnesota? Could be remembering it wrong though.

McBain wanted NHL ice time. I'm sure Minnesota wanted to sign him, but they couldn't guarantee him a lineup spot so they recouped an asset for him rather than let him walk for nothing. This guy probably cares more about the team he's going to than simply getting NHL ice time immediately (and also might not be the type of guy to be able to get an NHL job right away even on a weaker team like McBain could).

He thought he wasnt gonna be given opportunities or something. Like the wild could have signed and showcased him before trading him

So if that was the case Myers should stay far away from the Wild as he will be in a similar situation

“Daniil Gushchin simply went from a top USHL goal-scorer on the Muskegon Lumberjacks to a top OHL sniper for the Niagara IceDogs… The 5-foot-10 winger scored 22 goals and 47 points in the USHL during his draft year, then followed that mark with 32 goals and 64 points in 46 points in his final season with Muskegon… In a new league and club this season, Gushchin has been nothing short of dominant for Niagara. His 36 goals this season is double the mark of the second-highest scorer on his team. His 65 points through 43 games are also 29 points above the next-best teammate… with a 98/100 overall 5v5 WAR.” -THW

Some snippets from a post on Gushchin.

I simply loved the pick at the time and Gushchin is looking like a real threat. I’m so excited to see him in the AHL.

I’ve watched most of Aatu Raty’s games this season and a few weeks ago I was thinking he has a lot of Nazem Kadri in his game. Just the way he sees the ice, his forechecking , shot etc…

He added another element of Kadris game today. He was thrown out of game 3 of the playoffs for a boarding penalty and unsportsmanlike conduct
