Whose the better NHL forward next year?

Alexander Holtz
Jack Quinn
Marco Rossi
Cole Perfetti

Jarvis and Lundell probably could be included but it would have to be one of them if I did lol.

I'd say Jack Quinn has the highest chance based on his NHL season, but I like Holtz

lol it's just so early but Macklin Celebrini would be the other one. I really like Kiviharju tho

Started keeping tabs on 2024 guys this year. Kiviharju is setting himself up nicely to be the first guy picked, but Cole Eiserman has a legitimate claim to the 2024 throne as well. And it’s hard not to include Macklin Celebrini with the offensive output the kid put together this year.

Raty should be given every chance to win a spot out of camp next season. He’s been dominant so far in the playoffs and he doesn’t have any holes in his game.

Yep, can't wait till Conor Geekie goes top 10 and Slafkovsky goes top 3 because they have size

Gauthier > Savoie? Mintyukov and Korchinski > Mateychuk? Where tf is Nazar? He's easily 4th in NA. LDBB is 8th ahead of (among others) Howard, McGroarty, Nazar, Chesley, Casey, Nelson, Snuggerud and Mateychukneutral Same goes for Beck, only Howard is ahead of him.

This once again proves that people read too much into the Olympics. In now world do I take Slafkovsky > Nemec. How Kemell is ahead of Nemec (and Jiříček) is beyond me.

https://media.nhl.com/site/vasset/public/attachments/2022/05/16053/2022%20NHL%20Final%20Rankings%20-%20NA%20Skaters.pdf

These are definitely the worst draft rankings I've seen this year. What even is this? Just a few things that stand out as particularly horrible and that I haven't mentioned already:
-Nazar at 21 (yeah, you heard that right 21st among NA skaters, I'm about to cry) (behind guys like Lorenz, Lamoureux, Goyette, Gaucher, Firkus and Rinzel (just to name the most surprising))
-All the mentioned players ahead of Nazar shouldn't be in the Top 20, some should be in the 40s lol
-McGroarty at 22, same story
-I love Sapovaliv but he isn't good enough to be 23
-Hutson ahead of Casey
-Nelson at 32 (behind Schaefer, Buching, Minten, Ingram + the guys mentioned above)
-Kyrou, Lindgren, Petrovský and Gustafson all seem low considering this is just NA skaters
-BMB at 34
-Dumais at 73
-Namestnikov at 211

Just an awful amount of weird decisions and these are just the NA skaters rankings

Also what are some of these comparisons? Scheifele for Gauthier? E. Karlsson for Nemec? Is also don't really see Matthews for Slafkovsky but whatever.

https://media.nhl.com/site/vasset/public/attachments/2022/05/16053/2022%20NHL%20Final%20Rankings%20-%20ITL%20Skaters.pdf

-Salomonsson that high is just really weird. He shouldn't be ahead of Kulich, Trikozov, Odelius, Hävelid, Mešár
-Can't see Mešár at 20 but that's still justifiable as opinions on him vary greatly
-Forsmark at 33?
-Grudinin at 53?
-Locmelis should be on the list

Those were just the things I noticed first. At least these rankings aren't as bad as the NA rankings.

That's like such a horrible take, especially if you look who's ahead of him here.

I don’t think Kemell is ahead of Nemec, but he could go ahead of Jiricek. I’d have them in the same tier, so that’s not too bad, they’re pretty close so that’s when a team could go by positional need (in that 5-7 range most likely). Also, while I think Nemec will probably edge out Slafkovsky on draft day due to his position (RD>>LW), they could go 3/4. And honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Slafkovsky go as high as 2, and I wouldn’t consider it an L. I think he has the most raw potential of everyone in the draft when you combine his speed, size, and skill, and honestly think he has a good shot at becoming the best player (plus tons of international success, which isn’t always guaranteed for non-big 5 countries, including 9 points in 5 games to earn Silver at the Hlinka-Gretzky and 7 goals in 7 games to earn Bronze at the Olympics, both fantastic and unexpected results for Slovakia). So yeah I don’t think that high end of the EU list is that crazy.

NA list is definitely stupid though lol. And Geekie is 100% going top 10 because he’s a 6’4” centre lol (at least he has high skill though, I see him as a Wyatt Johnston type, with the advantage of being bigger earlier, and the same skating issues).

If the Canucks don't draft defenseman Elias Pettersson i will be mad, imagine having 2 Elias Pettersson's on the same team, announcers nightmare right there

I put Jiříček in brackets because that's just my opinion and he edges him out by a bit, just my personal opinion. Nemec is by a good margin the better player right now. I'd consider Slafkovsky at 2 an L; both Cooley and Nemec are ahead of him by a lot on my board. Savoie and Jiříček are in the same category as Slafkovsky. And you mention exactly what I was talking about: people focusing a lot on the Olympics. Slafkovsky hasn't looked as good in Liiga or the U20 SM-sarja. You shouldn't draft someone at 2 because they had a few good tournaments when there are players that looked better all year (in their respective league).

Could be yes. I do think it would be the wrong choice though. Too many things in Geekie's game worry me. That pushes him out of the Top 10 (even Top 15 at the moment) and it's a very risky pick. But it could definitely happen.

I agree Geekie top 10 would probably be a slight reach, but it’s for sure happening lol, GMs are dumb.

Also Slafkovsky did have a better second half in terms of Liiga production, but like, Liiga production as a 17yo isn’t really necessarily the most important thing. Youngsters in top pro leagues tend to get reduced minutes. His production in the junior levels was elite (like Barkov-esque all the way up iirc), so he does have that high end track record. His performance against his peers has always been high end. Even the Olympics was against some peers but mostly grown men, and he was a star.
